Bought the Forge World head statue, didn't know what I wanted to do with it.

Image

Thought about just doing another scatter terrain cd piece.

Image

But with what it cost, thought I should do a little bit more with it and make it a window sill or bookcase item besides a game board piece.

Took my Woodland Scenics Washed Rock Mold, put it in a bed of rice to level it out and poured plaster of paris.

Placed the statue on it to see how it would work/look and then carved the plaster of paris to fit the head on.

Since the different types of material take paint differently, I covered the piece with artist gesso and then did a layer of grey craft paint.

That is where it stands now, will put on hold while I ponder what ground cover, paint, trees, etc that I want to use. Added to the list of projects I have, currently at four underway, more awaiting to leave the always growing pile.

Added several items I received for Christmas.

First I received some woodland scenics fall foliage trees. Painted the trunks so they didn't look so plasticy, added some chopped up fall leaves to the bases and glued a penny underneath to add some stability. Too small for wargamming except to make a dense area, but work well for my N scale train.

The reason I wanted them was for the fallen statue head as background on the base. A taller tree would be fro trunk vs tree in pictures.

Image

You might notice I smoothed out an area for a weary hobbit to rest.

Image

Before Christmas I had painted the rock part of the base and added some ground cover I had.

Image

I also received some Green Stuff World orange and brown micro leaves for a finer look of ground cover.

Image

Still have work to do on the head itself, the weary hobbit and adding more material to the base.

Finished my fallen head statue. Went away from adding trees to the base, just couldn't get it right. Added some ferns, tufts and a gourd stem to the base.

On my window sill.

Just some shots outside.
