Okay, this is pretty sweet! I'm sure the terrain will be pricy, but it's sweet all the same.

Glad to see they did end up doing both a Mirkwood/Lorien/Dol Guldor front and the Erebor front for the War in the North. Seeing as they did re-release the spider packs and all.

That Looks really promising :D
Looking forward to New Dol Guldur miniatures and legendary Legion. I doubt there will BE New Versions of the Nazgul but maybe a New Necromancer miniature :)

Can anyone clarify what they mean by the 'War of the Ring' release in this post? Is it referring to the mass battle system or simply the locations of the next SBG source books? Thanks!

Wow, that's a lot more than I expected. It's great to see GW coming out with more terrain kits.

Better start saving my pennies.....

No new necromancer model is expected, but the book they are releasing will have a detailed painting guide showing how to paint him in fiery-red colours, as on the cover of the book. That's a change from the old studio model that was painted in green colours when a necromancer campaign guide was first released.

I think they are just talking about the "War of the Ring" as the period of Middle Earth history covered by the Lord of the Rings films, rather than any near-term plan to bring back the mass battle system.

Thanks Alex. That makes much more sense.

Love all the new scenery. I'll definitely be picking up that Amon Hem.

The new scenery looks great. It will be interesting to see how you can combine multiple Dol Guldur sets together to make different buildings. Apparently Dol Guldur is one of the first uses of new machine tooling that allows them to go into finer details than ever before on their plastic models. (Amon Hen is meanwhile in Forge World resin, like Weathertop).

The new legendary legion for the White Council in the book is expected to be 800 points for five models, with Galadriel having a sort of bonus super-banish spell.

Oh boy. Looks like I had better start saving my money. TWO books coming out and two terrain pieces? Wow. Way more stuff than I expected.

The models from this announcement haven't been re-released yet:
https://www.warhammer-community.com/202 ... ge-update/

It says the departing miniatures (eg. woses) will be unavailable after 29 August ... so logically the re-releases should be coming back in September (or a bit later).

I guess the re-released spiders, White Council etc. plus the necromancer book and the plastic Dol Guldur will all be out in next few months/before end of the year.

Oh wow. Just about the time I thought GW was going to let Middle Earth go dormant again. I'm certainly more excited about War in the North than Necromancer, but I do love the new Witch King plastic. I'm going to add him to the Battle at Pelennor Fields.

I believe ME releases have been historically in the spring and fall, and GW likes to leak major releases a month in advance so we'd be looking at mid to late september.

We've also got the Amazon series releasing in a year or so, and you can bet GW will be planning on a major release when it drops. Start making a five-year plan with your wallet, comrades.
