I'm going to a 550pt tournament soon and there are two armies I'm interested in

The first army is a mordor horde styled as "The Extras of Pellenor Field"
I wanted to play an army that in my head was generic enough to be fighting almost any other army I might face. I've only been to one other tournament and I took Minas Tirith and it was a bit weird fighting ents, laketown survivors, gondor, rohan and heroes of erebor. I have also converted enough orcs below that every single model will be unique or different which for a 50 model army I think is pretty good

Here is the army
_____________________________________________________________
orc captain with shield
10x orcs with weapons
1x orc with banner
1x morannon orc

orc captain with shield
10x orcs with weapons
1x orc with banner
1x morannon orc

Moranon orc captain w/ shield
6x moranon orcs w/shield
3x moranon orc w/ spear & shield
3x moranon orc w/ spear

orc captain with bow
10x orcs with bows & spears
_____________________________________________________________

I've never played a horde before so I would appreciate any tactical advice on how to best make use of hordes.

I also know full well orc bows are a terrible, terrible idea but I like them anyway for fluff.
I've got some mordor trolls and I would like to know if I should cut out the banners, and some extra weapons to squeeze in a troll instead. I ideally I want it to be a horde.
I should note I don't have any wraiths or shamans (despite how good I bet a shaman would be) but I do have some named mordor heroes. Ideally I don't want to use them so my army is blanket applicable to any force I might face.

_____________________________________________________________

My other army is born out of fear of the horde and how many models I will have to move each turn and also empathy for my opponent who will have to wait each turn while I take my long term (not to say they won't enjoy killing scores of weak orcs)

With the new rules I wanted to give the old Theoden profile one final foray.
It would be Theoden, Hama, Gamling, Aragorn, Legolas & Gimili.
I have a significant rohan foot army (I have no painted mounted rohan forces) and can swap out some of the fellowship to have some bodies. I am a fan of fluff so if Theoden fights so does Hama.

I've never played an all hero force so I could some advice here too.

Shamans would indeed be useful but I would also recommend looking for a drum and a task-master or something to convert into the same. You're army looks like it would be difficult for a lot of stuff to take in a straight fight at the points range you're in. The low defense of your orc horde, however, leave it open to some major problems against mounted Rohan or any other army with a heavy ranged component. Close combat specialists like the Iron Hills will also pose a real problem. You also don't have much in the way of anti hero tools to work with. The drum and task-master might help you close the gap quickly with shooting armies. Plus, it would help you get a flank around behind a smaller enemy force and encircle them to get the most out of your numbers. As for the elites and heroes I guess you could trust to numbers but it might be worth considering working in some trolls.

I would really suggest merging your archers with your other warbands to make the spear support more useful in games with maelstrom of battle deployment. What were you thinking in terms of tactics besides filling to board and pushing toward the other side?

I recommend a couple wargs at least. I use this 500 point army...
Gothmog with shield
3 orcs with picks and shield
2 orcs with shields and sword
2 orcs with 2 handed weapons
5 orcs with spear

Gorbag with shield
3 orcs with picks and shield
2 orcs with shields and sword
2 orcs with 2 handed weapons
5 orcs with spear

Orc captain with shield
5 orcs with sword and shield
2 orcs with 2 handed weapons
5 orcs with spear

orc captain with shield and warg
5 warg riders, one with banner.
Cavalry units are nice to counter Rivendell, Rohan, etc. Also not giving an orc a bow is a waste of 6 points in my opinion. They have limited range and barely land any shots.

I hadn't thought much beyond sheer weight of numbers.

The only tactical consideration was very low quality heroes across the board to avoid anyone being singled out & using their might to gain numerical local superiority via heroic marches. I also intended to group all my heroes together into a goon squad and heroic strike my way past tough heroes. I suppose the flipside of having numerous weak heroes and banding them together is that no hero is a priority because no single hero is really going to be key to victory.

I have not played very many games and none with a horde faction.

Also I know an orc with a bow is a terrible idea but its thematic. They're not a linchpin. However mixing them in among the throng sounds like a good idea.
