Hi All,

In case you were not already aware, you are invited to The Unexpected Journey.

The What:
Once a month a specific model from Games Workshops Middle Earth range will be selected by TUJ Admin completely at random using the Unofficial Collectors Guide. Members have one month to complete the model and post a picture in the group.

The Why:
Basically, the reason behind this is that I love Rohan and I have tendency to focus on that and not paint alot outside of it. But even when I do, there are certain models I forget exist or just would never think to paint, like Malbeth The Seer. Second, DMS commission paints for a living. So most of his life is consumed painting massive themed armies and often times the same miniatures over and over. I think he is on his third or fourth round of Champions of Erebor. The idea of the challenge is to get us painting models from the range we wouldn't normally paint, and it is working! Further, we have seen some neat models come up, Like Malbeth, but it also got use painting Buhrdur, and the Death of Gothmog diorama. Pretty cool.

The Where:
We have a facebooks group, https://www.facebook.com/groups/1092085610875229/ but I will also try and get all the miniatures uploaded here as well.

The whole idea is to have fun. If its a particular pose you dont have, but you have the character in a different pose, then by all means paint it! There is no voting, no prizes, no pressure. Just have fun, and hopefully fill out your collection a bit more if you dont have the models, and dig them out of the closet if you do.

I'll get a post up here that has pictures of all models to date for those who would like to get caught up.

Have fun and sling some paint!

-Randy and Kev
