Well I think I´m gonna start a new project based on topic above, this force it majority compromissed of all(or almost all) the factions that held Minas Tirith at bay from Mordor Invasion.

Warband 1
Prince Imrahil of Dol Amroth on horse with lance
4 Knights of Dol Amroth
6 Dol Amroth man at arms
2 Knights of Dol Amroth on horse with lance

Warband 2
Forlong the Fat on horse
10 Axemen of Lossarnarch
2 Knights of Dol Amroth on horse with lance

Warband 3
Duinhir
8 Blackroot Vale Archers

Warband 4
Captain of Minas Tirith with shield
5 Warriors of Minas Tirith with shield
5 Warriors of Minas Tirith with shield and spear

total: 750pts on spot

Hello,
Interesting themed army, but I guess you know it won't really be competitive (I'm not a great player, so it's only theory ^^) :
- lack of strenght (only Forlong, Imrahil and the knights with lance have real killing power, no?)
- lack of magic (to counter big heroes or monsters?)
+ reasonably good numbers
+ mobility (horses)
+ defense (except for the bowmen)

BTW, blackroot vales archers seems to be weak (F3, S3, D4, C2...). I understand why you've taken them, but I'd change them if I could, even though I really like the Duinhir's miniature :)

Don't you want to include Army of the Dead because they came later in the fight? With good defense and terror, they might be really good against Mordor (front rank, supported by men?).

At a higher points game, it would be great to add Gandalf the White, for theme ;) Such an epic character, IMHO (point sink, however ^^) :)

Sorry for the poor English :)

I believe he's playing book-wise. In the book the army of the dead never fought on the pelennor fields. They just got rid of the corsairs

I've read the books but I don't remember :/
So the deads only fought for Aragorn against the corsairs, and they don't fight at the Pelennor? Such a big difference with the movie :o

we don't even see them fighting in the book. Everything is told by Gimli and all we know is that they basically wiped out 50 great ships and even more boats worth of corsairs for Aragorn, who then released them from their vow. Aragorn came with the Grey company plus men from Lebennin and Lamedon.

It's funny that the GW choose to made an Angbor the Fearless miniature, when he didn't even get to see the Pelennor fields either, but not Hirluin (and his Green Hills warriors) or Hurin.

As for the thematic army itself, I don't think it could be any better considering both the book and what is available. We know that Imrahil and Forlong where mounted and lead their men to the battle, while the Blackroot Archers were on the field to take better shot against the Mumaks, while the captain of minas tirith may take the place of Hurin of the Keys and his garrison.
