Hi,

I've started planning my Bag End scenery, and I need some help and advice.

Here is a comparison picture between the official plan, the Weta Environment and a drone capture showing the differences. Do you have any idea why are they different?

... and does anybody have a picture of the Back door?

Thanks,
Miniman

Thank you very much. These will help a lot.

I've found out that on the right there were two windows always, but only one room.

And on the left side the dining room was enlarged before The Hobbit (the environment shows the LOTR state) because of the dwarves, and the window was replaced with two small windows. But the official plan shows the old and the new windows together. So there is a little bit mistake.

Great link, thanks - and thanks to OMW for photos, too. A nagging question remains about the mill, new or old - where does the water powering the wheel flow from?

Dance Magic? :) Sorry :) wrong Movie.

Fortunately, I am not going to build enough ground work for that to be obvious.

Here are the only concept pictures of the back door I am aware of: http://imgur.com/a/7NQo6

When I built Bag End, I based it as closely as possible off Weta's floor plans. It doesn't match the screen Bag End exactly, but you can make it work.

Good luck!

Thanks. :)

Yes, these are the only concept pictures that are available, but I need some real footage.

Having visited Bag End in NZ, I didn't see it and so am 95% it was never built so there is no footage. I think it only ever existed in concept and on the floor plans. I would love to be proved wrong! :boromir

Yes, It is more and more likely that there isn't any back door.
I think the Study and the Bedroom were the two last ones that were built.

The new Dining room from the inside:

As you can see, there is no middle windows only two small ones.
So the official plan has an error.

A photo during the reconstruction.
You can see the new extended Dining room with the two small windows. And then the Study and the last Bedroom. There is no Back door. :(
