I bought the Tantive IV and the Rebel Transport recently, oh and a Tie Bomber and Kyle Katarn's ship*. Um, no, I'm not addicted.

I can't actually say I want much of the new stuff though. For me it's about recreating those iconic battles from the original trilogy and, while the Scum and Villainy ships look great and fit within the design aesthetics of the franchise, they don't quite hold the same appeal as the classic movie-based ships.

* The Moldy Crow was in the original Star Wars Dark Forces computer game and the cut scenes were shot as live action segments. Very cool.

Anyone else looking forward to the Force Awakens stuff?

Really addictive game, i love it. The new starter set came out last month for the next film, well worth getting even if you have the old one, Armada is good as well

I saw the new set contains the new look ships. Are any of the other contents different? Is it the same pilots?

New pilots too, different upgrade cards, new asteroids, updated rules (technically the same, just with errata/FAQ incorporated where applicable), changed damage deck as well.

I just started this game and it is really fun, although I haven't had any games bigger than just the core sets. Should be getting in a few bigger games this weekend though.

As an aside, I've been checking FFG's X-Wing forums recently to get caught up on the game, and I must say that those forums are filled with a lot of anger. So much negativity, not like these forums at all.

Haven't been there much lately, but I imagine it's still a constant stream of 'fix X!' and 'Y is broken!'. And that in a game which is pretty fantastic in terms of balance to begin with. Some of the conversions and repaints are ace though! Only downside is that I've gone down that road myself too, and repainting nice looking ships isn't the best way to decrease my backlog of unpainted regular miniatures...

Seeing as I would definitely make them look worse, I have no motivation to even try to paint them, which is pretty big plus in my book.

The forums seem to be filled to the brim with extremely negative people. Especially the ones who think that anything that takes place before Ep IV and after VI don't exist.

Narrow minds are dangerous places folks. I like that the Star Wars universe is growing over time.

The prequels may not be that good, but they have some great ships.

I play this game, I find it to have similarities with SBG in that you can still put the hurt on with "non-competitive" squadrons. I took BTL-A4 Autoblaster Y-Wings and Zeds to my first tournament and placed in the top 50%. Better than I thought and everyone was running "hot stuff" like Invincible-Poe, Corran, TLT, etc.

What I admire about companies like FFG and Blizzard Entertainment is that their developers are active in their games and are pretty good at coming in with new releases that help to balance the meta. For example, Wave 9 is bringing in a bunch of Fire-Arc focused mechanics to bring the game back to dogfighting. I hope that Adam Troke and his team can have that kind of vigilance and activity with MiddleEarth:SBG. Sure FFG and Blizzard are not perfect, you try running a huge project like that, but at least they are trying harder than most.

I'm glad that they are releasing some more Force Awakens ships, I feel that they were a bit slow expand on the basic new x-wing and tie
