I have ventured into the world of sculpting!

Having long lamented the lack of Star Wars miniatures, and also wanting to try scratch-building my own miniatures, I put the two together!

So here is my first Star Wars sculpt (and my third whole miniature), a Togruta Jedi Master:

Sculpted from Fimo and Green Stuff.

I realised after I'd finished that a Togruta (like Shaak Ti and Ahsoka) should apparently only have one lekku (head-tails) at the back! I'll blame some genetic variation!

Hope you like it :)

I'm impressed!

The proportions and pose look good. The small details (like the hands) will come together with practice.

Thanks Erunion!
I followed a series of sculpting tutorial videos by Tom Mason, which were really helpful for making well-proportioned armatures.

The Tom Mason tutorials are excellent for anyone considering sculpting their own figures. I thoroughly recommend them.

Here is my second Star Wars character sculpt - a blue-skinned Twi'lek Jedi Knight:

Quite pleased with how she turned out! :)

Pretty good. You've got some real potential there. 8)

Dang, these are really good. I will say that the faces are weird, but then so is pretty much every face at that scale. Keep it up!

Thanks Draugluin! Yeah, faces and hands are tricky! They look better in real life though I think, the pics are large so they show up any flaws!

For the record, I love that you have John Calvin as your profile pic! Haha.

:-D Close - it's actually Jan Hus! Just a doodle I did one day (with a bit of computer magic added!) I did do a John Calvin drawing too!

These are looking rather good especially as they're some of your first attempts, I barely manage fixing up the odd bit here and there so always appreciate others sculpting efforts.

I'd love to see these, but I'm getting Photobucket's ransom message. Could you upload them via a different source?
