hi everyone long time no see, i was on holliday.

i have to agree with urft on this one (probebluy because i mostly use the same sort of stratagies as he does)

i'm never really bothered about archers just aslong as i have at least eight i am happy.
obviously i dont mind having some cb's that can do allot of damage to horses ( my main target in every game is a horse)

i never really have problems with archers except the following:

high elves, mounted legolas, legolas and haldir, rangers of gondor (not that difficult to kill but every one fields loads of them), cb's, trackers and last and most surtainly least, mounted archers(ror) they annoy the life out of me.

but like everyone has explained how to kill all of these dudes i wont go into detail.

another thing by the way: urft doe us wat aardiger tegen die nieuwelingen ze zijn zo newbie dat ze ampers weten wat de verschillende fases zijn.

Hmm...
Denethor He is, I believe, points-wise counted as a member of the Good force. Therefore, unless the rules have been changed in WD (which I don't get), this makes him as much of a liability as anything: Broken Mind leaves him just about as likely to serve Evil as Good.
Wormtounge A definite must have for any Isengard army. As long as he's playable (Saruman), that is. I mean, how great is that to have a big ugly leach sucking the might out of your enemies' heroes while they can do nothing to stop him?
Gollum Same thing, though somewhat less so. Well, he doesn't leach anybody, but he can still make a general pain so long as Evil has priority - and if they don't, Gollom probably won't be much of a nuisance in return.
Synopsis In general, the "special cheap characters" with immediately game-altering rules tend to favor the will of Evil.

Ok, long time no change... However, the new topic is...

Uruk-hai Uruk-hai are some of the more interesting troops. Points cost and strength have to be balanced, particularly in a Mordor army...

Uruks are the best warriors their are and i have a uruk hai army :)
The isengard uruks are much better than the mordor uruks because they are able to carry crossbows and pikes. Isengard have also uruk hai berserkers.
The mordor uruks are more expensive and look like german soldiers.
The uruk hai are also the best troops for an evil army and have good heroes ( ugluk and lurtz and a shaman also a hero :P ).
Isengard have the best archers of evil ( taliban archers are also good ).

The only thing in an isengard army that sucks are wargs.
Uruk hai would get a 9/10. together with the 1/10 from the wargs isengard get a 10/10. :D

Uruks are good (almost as good as elves).
They don't have a "best" equipment choice (unlike elves with elven bows and Rohan with throwing weapons) They are best with a bannerman and a lot of swords and shields and a cinsiderable amount of pikeman

Bottomline: thier diversity in equipmant and troop choice makes them strong while thier lack of strong mounted warriors is thier only downfall (thier also worth thier points value)

It sucks because:
1) It belongs to the harad armies and i hate harad ( both in middle earth and on earth)
2) compare the point cost of the taliban elefant with trolls, need i say more
3) one mumak has the same point cost as 5 leadbelchers and the last one is definately better.
4) Every hero can beat that animal because of his low fight value
5) A mumak cannot win it's point cost back, especially in a 500 point battle.
6 ) Why would anyone pay 80 euro for some plastic scrap :P , in the third reich it's 60 euro, but still it's expensive.

And because the mumak cannot walk through terrain, a bunch of rangers will rape it in a few turns.
Strenght 9 or strenght 7 need both a 3+ to wound normal warriors so trolls are better.

i concur, and i hate elephants anyways.
how in gods name this became one of gw most wanted models.
and it takes a year to paint and it costs about 17 pots of gw paint to finish it anyway.'
and for the money you spend you get a dumbo look-a-like, and 24 harad( i think) and you dont even get a bald guy with face paint

all in all it isnt worth its weight in elephant sh*t.

Unfortunately some Mods don't like it and remove posts with "bad" language like this. Or they don't like freedom of speech.

their ok, ans very effective against cavalry and normal troops when in a good position, and archers on the back can take down rangers. trample is really effective if u get on the flank of an enemy and trample down their battle line :D

A mumak cannot enter terrain, so keep the rangers behind a tree.
If you rangers make a wound on that elefant, that beast will be scared and go mad (hopefully :) )

Cavalery is very good against a mumak because a hero can charge it first with a heroic move so that cavalery can finish that beast off .
A mumak has only a fight value of 4... :o
And that beasts is more than half of your army when playing a 500 point battle.

if anybody is good at conversions they could give a mumak really big ears and then it could fly over models and stuff.
then we could give some men of minas tirith face paint like clowns so that the mumak gets scared and then we should lock up his mom and get a big black crow that sings songs to it like: "if you think you've seen about every thing but i've seen an elephant fly" then we could film it and send it of to disney!!!

tell me what you think cause this might be a new supplement in the making.

if anyone has any good ideas please pm me or mail me at

URFT? about your last post. ROFL!!!

battles can be won and lost in almost any ohase of the game, from good tactics and generalship in the movement phase (ok, this won't win the game, but it will really help) to not picking your targets properly in the shooting phase. the shooting phase is really important because if you pick your targets properly then you can make their army virtually useless if the correct models die.

ROFL ROFL ROFL!!!   volley fire is not useless! however, normally no-one ever fields enough archers to actually make it worthwhile  . also, if the enemy army is small and elite, then they won't have enough targets to make volley fire worthwhile. but if the enemy army is absolutely huge (i.e. a mordor army) then start moving forward 3" whilst shooting every turn. eventually you're going to kill something. in reference to your comment about Imrahil or Faramir on horse  then do EVERYTHING YOU CAN to get that horse out from under them as they will almost single handedly destroy your army. and also, if the enemy has a Mordor troll or Troll Chieftain, then RUN AWAY! RUN AWAY! trolls can only move the same as a foot soldier, so if you don't let the troll catch you, then all those points that were spent on him are absolutely wasted.
