I think that the idea of tokens is pretty cool! However, I think it might be rather difficult for the good player if only Folca can wound the Boar?

I figured there should be some way to force the good player to pit Folca against the boar. Rather than just resorting to shooting at it from horseback or swarming it with footmen for an easy win. Something that might encourage Folca's use rather than force it might work better I guess. But since Folca's survival would probably be a victory condition of some sort why would the good player risk him against the boar if he didn't need to?

You could give the Boar a Blubber type rule where it has a 3+ save against all wounds, unless Folca inflicts them.

Wan Shi Tong: Hmm you are right... We will need to think about that! :)

Draugluin: I think we will need to make the boar rather powerful. But he should have his weaknesses. 8)

I've thought of a few Scenario ideas before the war of the Ring:

The Field of Celebrant (Eorl saves Gondor)
Battle of the Wold (Eorl is killed)
The Hunt (Folca hunts the Boar of Evernholt)
The Long Winter (Campaign)
Éomund's last Stand (Éomund is Killed)

Any more?

You might be able to stretch Folca's orc hunts in the White mountains into a short campaign and if you felt real inventive you could do something with Aragon during Thengels rein. Maybe you could tie Aragorn's doings into Eomunds dead, make it part of the same ongoing conflict. But we don't have much information about either of those campaigns were carried out so how well it would work is hard to say. Aside from those two I don't think any others are feasible to attempt.

Wan Shi Tong: I think for Campaigns I will probably just stick to The Long Winter and the War of the Ring, you are right we shouldn't stretch it by making to many Campaigns and Scenarios, rather have just a few very characterful ones. Thanks! :-D

I will post some of my Profiles soon! :D

First off I like were some of these profiles are going and I like want you did with Eowyn, Legolas and Gimli. I also like Folca's profile though he might be a bit rules heavy. I would like to mention a couple things.

One why is Haldir 88 points its an odd number why not just round it up to 90?

Two Eomer's new profile seems unnecessary since its half knight of the pelenor half regular Eomer. I don't think it will get much use to be honest.

Three Aragorn with andural and a bane is overkill if he can use them at the same time. He doesn't need the help of a bane weapon when he kills on a 4+ anyway. If the weapons aren't stackable then the bane is next to useless since most player will go for using Andural anyway. If you want to add something to him give him terror like he had in the book.

Now about those special rules I like them they seem like a good direction as long as they don't become to prevalent. The Forth Eorlingas rule seems like it ought to be a one time use thing for Théoden and for no one else ever. It would certainly do a cavalry charge justice but using it multiple times seems like overkill.

Thanks Wan Shi Tong! I always greatly appreciate your ideas and advice! 8) I'm glad you like Éowyn, Legolas, and Gimli! :D

Sorry, I was supposed to say XX for Haldir's points but I instead said 88, it's not his actual points value. I still need to calculate the points for most of them!

As for Aragorn, I didn't think of that! Perhaps I should only give one option, Movie or Book, or else as you said it would be to powerful.

I invented the Forth Éorlingas special rule knowing that it could be overused, so I thought only give it to a few certain Kings who definitely where not alive at the same time period.

I have compiled some rules for Théoden, I think it might be a bit to Special Rules heavy.

I will add the Rules for Snowmane and the Household Knights soon. Ideas and comments are much appreciated. :)

I like it. It fits with the other profiles in its class, more so the Hobbit ones with all the special ruels but it's still not out of place in LOTR. The one thing I'd suggest you change is the price of the war horn to 30 rather than 35. An extra ten points to give it to a hero seems a bit much. Though Since he has all those courage buffs anyhow giving him a horn might not be a popular choice anyhow.

I look forward to seeing the new Snowmane and household knight profiles soon. And maybe a reworked "the horse and the serpent" scenario to show off these new third age profiles.

Thanks! :-D

I added the War horn because I really like the part in the Books when he takes the Horn from Guthlaf and blows it so hard it bursts! :D I will take your advice and reduce its points.

Ho ho yes... Household Knights and Snowmane! Snowmane will have a rule called 'Master's Bane'.

I have no idea how long this supplement will take, but it will be awesome!

His rules are a bit complicated. He's extremely expensive for a 2 wound hero, so I would just give him a shield and Snowmane base. Also I would just sorta combine his two courage rules into one. I would make it a 12" standfast plus he gets fearless. FE is really complicated. I feel like it would be much easier to just have him call a special heroic action that combines Heroic March and Movement that he can call for free each turn. Something like that.

Draugluin: Thank's Draugluin! I will think over what you have said. The FE rule is in fact quite straight forward, I maybe need to explain it better. Its basically a super Heroic Combat. :-D

I have slightly updated Théoden profile above. Now I will post the others:

Knight of the King's Household (Man)

Snowmane

Snowmane.pdf

I wanted to make a rule something like this, but I found this one on Zogash's thread, "Rohan - as it should have been."
viewtopic.php?f=5&t=24219
I thought it might be unnecessary to design a new rule when this one is already so nice and simple. I hope there is no issue with borrowing the basic idea behind this rule? I changed it slightly so that Theoden only loses all his Fate on a role of 2-5 instead of all his Fate and 1 Wound, which I thought was a bit much.

Okay, um, about those the household knights. I don't think they should not be fight 5 base. Yes I know their are other human troops that have this but when combined with the plus one fight from Theoden they will be fight 6 and that's just unnecessary for them. Fight 5 would give them a clear advantage over the all existing evil cavalry in the game without going overboard. Rohan has been a low fight army from the beginning and these new lads being better than the existing captains of the guard and on par with the big name heroes of the land is going to throw things out of whack.

I don't think they need to be heroes either since outriders were dropped to soldier status themselves. Making them heroes is more complicated then its worth and it would make them a huge point sink to field. We're looking a upwards of 40 points or more to field a hero like them will horse and all. Much like the Riders of the Dead they will simple be overlooked for their more affordable counterpart i.e. the Sons of Eorl. If you decide to keep them as heroes though their base defense should be raised by one so they come out to a 7 when fully equipped. Since plus one strength and defense is customary for heroes.

In my opinion these household knights should simple make the royal guard better at killing other cavalry. Just giving them a lance and strength 4 would do that fine when coupled with Theoden's new rules that buff surrounding troops. And of course they are going to be used in tandem so why not tailor their rules to support that kind of play-style. They don't need to be dripping with extra rules or saddled with ungainly stat lines nor need they be exceptionally powerful to square of with most enemies in a thematic way.

So, here is the Elfhelm I have been thinking of:

Elfhelm, Marshal of the East-Mark (Man) Updated

Mv__F___S__D__A__W__C__M/W/F
6"_5/3+__4__5__2__2__5___3/3/2

Wargear
Sword and Armour

Options
Horse - 10 points
Shield - 5 points
Heavy armour - 5 points
Bow - 5 points
Throwing spears - 5 points

Special Rules
Expert Rider. Gifted Horseman. Special Bond.

Ride to War! Elfhelm is a skilled tactician, able to lead his men fast toward the seen of battle.

Elfhelm, Marshal of the East-mark may call a single Heroic March in the Good player's first Move phase for free of Might.

Curse these Roots! Although Elfhelm disagreed with a Hobbit accompanying the Rohirrim to Gondor's aid, he wisely let Merry follow Dernhelm to Battle.

Elfhelm, Marshal of the East-mark will never take part in a Heroic action called by Holdwine, Esquire of Rohan or Eowyn, Shield maiden of the Rohirrim. However, should they be within 4" of him they may use his Will points.
