In all honesty, I think Saruman from the Fallen Realms book is fine where he is. Not massively overpowered, and not too weak as to be sub-par. I kind of like the idea of the Palantir allowing him to ignore LoS, but I agree with the above, that profile and the Call Storm spell looks a bit too good to me.

Not quite as army-destroying, but how about this to represent Saruman storm-summoning:

Master of Storms: Once per game, Saruman may spend a single Might and Will point to place a Storm marker anywhere within 24", which cannot be placed on top of models or terrain. Any enemy model within 6" of the marker has its Shoot stat reduced to 6+.

This marker remains in play until Saruman has no Will remaining (not including the free point granted by his Staff), or until an enemy capable of casting spells moves within 6" of the marker, banishing the enchantment.

Needs a bit of work, but I think it could be cool, basically a Reverse-Cast-Light, a debuff on the enemy rather than a buff on your own guys.

The saruman profile is to represent him at his greatest power.
The spells represent:
How grima curses several book charcters is represented by curse, made by saruman
Of course it is MASSIVELY overpowered.
350 points.

He never once rose to anywhere near maximum of Sauron's power (or cost). Not in the books, not in the movies.

Maybe lower his move to 0
Give him the gobbo scribes immobile rule, except that he cannot be carried.
Highen each spell by one step
Remove Curse
Remove the dagger
Count him as unarmed if he doesn't fight 2H
Giving him the broken mind rule(If he fails a courage test on a double one, he is controlled by the good side for that turn only))
That is a heavy tweak.
Maybe 250 for this
I understand your frustration on this topic, and of course I will tweak him more if you wish so

But none of those special rules make any sense to the lore.
No one has a problem with the creation of new house-rule profiles for people to play in friendly games for fun. But that profile is more powerful than even Smaug at 700 points. And it doesn't really fit with the other LOTR profiles, it's much more of a 40k/fantasy profile

truck22: Saruman and Lurtz are a bit off topic as they aren't Rohan, but as they are indirectly involved maybe we might include profiles for them. Cool ideas, I Iike how you tried to put moments or personal characteristics from the books and films into your profiles, like Lurtz's Shield Throw rule, pretty cool. Competitive profiles are nice, but I personally like profiles that have unique characteristics and reflect the characters. These don't always work in tournaments, but they can be used at an extra points cost in scenarios or friendly games. 8) Your Saruman was definitely overkill though!

Paradigm: Cool rule... 8) Nicely represents Saruman's Storm Calling abilities.

Keep your ideas coming...

Have a few profile ideas myself. This one is far from perfect.

What do you think?

It looks sound for the most part. The Horn is an interesting peace of gear but it might be a little to unwieldy. Why not make it like Boromirs horn but have it transfix an enemy with fear? Or have the highest courage enemy have to pass a test or suffer -1 when rolling to win a fight. Other than that maybe give him another fate point to give him a bit of added toughness.

On a separate but related note I was thinking about what you might do for a Snow stalker version of Helm. Like how Eomer has his Knight profile to represent him at the height of his power, a profile representing Helm after his sons die might not be out of sorts. I had thought to propose a rule like that for his current profile but a separate profile would work better.

Please start putting their stats in the correct order. It goes: F S D A W C M/W/F. It's just confusing how you're doing it.

Here some of the made profiles for the models I planned long long time ago.

Elfhelm, Marshal of the East-Mark___________________________________points value: 90
Move ____F____S____D____A____W____C____M____W____F
6"_____5/4+___4____7____2_____2____5____3_____1____2

wargear: Heavy armour, shield

master tactician: soldiers (not heroes) count Elfhelm
as a standart bearer with 6" range

Options:
º horse...............................10pts
º If your army includes Elfhelm, you can
upgrade any number of Riders of Rohan to
Eastfold Greenshields at the cost of +2 points
per model. Eastfold Greenshields are Strength 4,
rather than 3 (this upgrade cannot be combined with
erkenbrand´s westfold redshields upgrade)

Special Rules:
Expert Rider. See main rules manual.

Helm HammerHand___________________________________points value: 150
Move ____F____S____D____A____W____C____M____W____F
6"_____6/4+___5____6____3_____3____5____3_____2____2

wargear: Heavy armour, Hammer of Helm Hammerhand, Horn of Helm

Mighty stature: If an enemy heroe counter Helms heroic moves, helm can re-roll the dice
to see who will win the roll.

no weapon would upon bite him: when Helm Hammerhand suffers an attack
that does multiples wounds, it will just deal 1 wound instead (except seige engines)

Hammer of Helm Hammerhand: The mithril hammer allows the wearer to gain +1 to wound.

Horn of Helm: the bearer count has having terror. Dunlendings and wildman of dunland
will count as probe if they lose the fight against Helm hammerhand.

Options:
º horse...............................10pts
º If your army includes Helm Hammerhand, you can
upgrade any number of Rohan Royal guard to
Helm´s guard at the cost of +4 points
per model. Helm´s guard have fight value
of 5/4+ and Strength of 4.

Special Rules:
Expert Rider. See main rules manual.

This is what I´ve been using

Interesting profiles Galanur, not the way I would have thought them but interesting non the less.

I like Elfhelms profile but his special rule and troop upgrade feel a bit samey. Banner heroes are nice but that seems like the kind of thing that Theoden at the Pelennor would have. I could see him having an automatic challenge to an opponents heroic move or something like master of the wilds or whatever Aragorn has. His troop upgrade too could be something like not suffering movement penalty for shooting or being able to move at full speed at shoot.

And I don't see why everyone thinks Helm needs a hammer as a weapon either. His name is Helm Hammer HAND not Helm Hammer wielder.
