Just a thought but how would you guys feel about having a league table type thing for the monthly painting challenge? 3 points for 1st place , 2 points for 2nd and a point for 3rd each month. I would update it for you after each challenge.

I like the idea as it will give painters who are consistently fantastic in the challenges and for some reason always the bridesmaid and never the bride so to speak more recognition for their work.

If you like the idea speak now.... do you want me to start the league from Jan 2015 or i can include all data from the hall of fame (previous challenges if you wish - either way i don't mind.

Thoughts?

Sounds like a great idea. I would go with all data.

Yes, I think its a great idea. Start afresh or include old results - either's good!

I think it's an awesome idea bud! Think it would give most users like me (who don't win the challenges) further motivation to keep competing and improving.

I think it would be good to include the previous challenges but would also be happy to start from scratch in 2015 - great idea! :yay:

I like it DMS. I would be inclined to award points to more people though, maybe down to 5th or even further.

I would favour a calendar year table so you would have a 'champion' for each year. A rolling 12 month table is also an option but might be an administration nightmare!

Hi,

sounds like a good idea. However, what about giving points for every percentage of the election. I think that this might be better because otherwise there will not a lot of motivation for inexperienced painters because they might finish the league without any point. For this reason, I would prefer to start the league without the old data. This would be better for beginners, too.

A good idea in theory Badner although working it out as a percentage is over complicating things for myself with regards to updating. I don't have a lot of time and just want to be able to update quickly after each challenge.

I am leaning towards keeping the old data in too as people who have been painting and entering these challenges for years have earned valuable points already so wouldn't feel right taking them away if you get me.

Its not to be taken too seriously and is just meant as a bit of fun and to help motivate. I would do 2 tables if you like - One for the year and one for overall using old stats too..

So Top 5 get points you think? 5 pts 1st place - 4 points 2nd and so on?

Keep the feedback coming guys.

I really think it should begin with new data, as a massive lead from experienced painters WILL discourage new painters from competing, even more so than now. It makes it a lot more fair and inclusive IMO.
Perhaps reset it once a year, and add double points for the S&C competition. And of course relative points for the Diorama competition.

The S&C challenge will be seperate. Like i say it needs to be easy to update.

New data and old can be used. One league for January 2015 to 2016 which starts with new data only.

An overall league where all years data is input so that existing winners keep their points.

Discovered a slight bug in the league system already.

As it stands members cannot win two consecutive challenges in a row which is a hindrance in a league.

FIX
Members can now enter and win consecutive challenges but will only be able to score the maximum 5 points for 1st place on the first win. Subsequent consecutive wins will only score 3 points. 2nd -5th place will score as normal.

Sound ok?

One of your better ideas Kev. I'm all for it sand like the yearly result and an overall table from the archive.
A fairly big task to convert and log it all though.
This could make people take part more often.

You just made my day by retrospectively making me very happy with all those times I came 2nd or 3rd. Cheers DMS!

But.. 6th place in the overall league. Wow. Didn't see that coming. And the closest few competitors within reach...

*Must... find... Mordor figures.....!*

Yes I like the fact that some of the guys who are consistently painting very well in the challenges are now being rewarded and recognised for their achievements.

Get those Mordor models found Coen. :-)

Is there a league already written ? If so where is it ?

Oops found it.

Is it worth a mention on how many entries the individual has done ?

No I don't think so. trying to keep it simple. That information is readily available along with links to each individual challenges results in the Hall of fame.
