A friend and I got into a long discussion yesterday about what our favourite model to use is, he went to dragon because he just love the image of a dragon tearing through ranks of troops and I went for Wood elf sentinels as I love how irritating they can be to your opposition and love the lore that surrounds them.

I was wondering what you guys would choose, it doesn't have to be the most powerful or best sculpted (but it can be if you want) just one that you enjoy using.

That's a tough one.
If I'm playing goblins it's the Watcher, if Dwarves it's Murin and Drar, if Harad it's the Golden King and Hasharin.
Hmm I'd have to say the Watcher by the narrowest of margins over the GK

for me its a combo :) Easterling dragon knight (mounted) + war priest.
not only they are my pride models on painting :) but also their combo in game.
i love how sudden the dragon knight will kill (along with bladewarth) in one round even the toughtest of heroes my enemies field :D

*cries over durburz's corpse.* my favourite is dweller in the dark. Mr cavalry? No bonus and if you slow down slightly I can kill you...regenerating wounds, brutal power attacks and you need snake eyes before it run.

I like to use cirion. I know he is a budget hero, but I think he is a great mini who is often over-looked. Plus, I think he looks super cool.

Cirion is great. Beautiful model and a man with great story in the books.
He is the one who will charge the nazgul ;)

I love dead marsh spectres too. beautiful figures, and amazingly good to play with

I've always liked Gimli. Tough enough to throw in almost anywhere and watch him hack n slash most troops and even generic Heroes. Not so indestructible that you can be careless with him and slow enough that you need to think before you act. Love the little bugger! :D

For me it shall be the Girion model and each of the Dale warriors.

He looks quite awesome with his, "I think I see a dragon over there" look.

Suladan, The Serpent Lord is a good hero for nearly all Harad armies. His low-ish points cost with a horse as well makes him a deadly force and with a few Serpent Riders he can be a nice centrepiece for any Serpent Horde themed army!

Wow this is a TOUGH one for me. Other than practicing, Ive never used them, but I love the three Trolls. They have might, and thats always awesome. Then, besides basic monster rules which are cool, they have special rules themselves as well, and thats super cool.

Um....Vrasku and Mauhur are always fun because I just picture Vraskus immense strength re loading that bolt ultra quick, and frankly, anyone who can outshoot elves is a friend of mine.

Then theres Hunter Orcs.....Im gonna go ahead and say, yup.....theyre my favorite.....

The whole thing is, they are so cheap, you can whord, they have great strength and attacks for a model the cost of two goblin town goblins, and they do several things:
1-Move faster than regular evil units. Orcs, Goblins....I hate their movement. I love speed. The 6" movement makes me happy.
2-They are one of the few units who inspire terror. And I dont mean just terror, like the rule, terror. I mean fear. Literally, people spend their whole time tactically seeing how they want to manuever against them, and they back into a shell. Your job, as the leader of this army, is to crash their lines, and once **** hits the fan, you then manuever. Because against every army youre outrolling dice. Even against banners, and the like. No other army can give you so many units with 2 attacks. Unless you have a crazy rich guy buying all ferals or all Watchers, and then...still, more points = less attacks.
3-You can use them like in the movie. You charge your enemy, they die, you die, next battle, you just keep coming....charge again die some more but kill probably more.....keep charging die lol kill lol.....

All you do is youre like a waterfall....its like the DOS......the barrel scene....they charge, kill some elves, and a ton of hunters die.....and guess what....they got like 50 more to run down the river.

Boromir of Gondor, on horse, on foot, with banner or with lance. Just watch him go at the head of f5 d7 fountain court!

Thranduil by far, I love the 2 free spells per game. Very effective.

Thrain, strong enough to kill other heroes and monsters, and break tests? no problem.

And he is just an awesome model that looks badass.
