I've been collecting LotR minis since GW launched the Fellowship of the Ring, but never really got into the game. While casting around for a new project for 2014, I unearthed my LotR stash again and was inspired by the old 'The Ruin of Arnor' book to build armies for Arnor and Angmar. I found the newest versions of the lists in 'The Kingdoms of Men' and 'Moria & Angmar' and set out to see what I had on hand...

Turns out I had more than 1600 points for Angmar including allies. I have a pile of Isengard allies - Wildmen of Dunland and Warriors of Dunland I intend to paint as the evil Men of Angmar and Rhudaur). I bought a few blisters and filled in a couple of OOP gaps from ebay.

My Arnor army was smaller with only a single 12-model unit of Warriors of Arnor, an 8-model unit of Rangers of Arnor, a handful of Dunedain, and some characters (I have all of the metal characters from the Arnor range). I ordered 24 Warriors from the GW shop and I found six metal Clansmen of Lamedon and Angbor in the bargin bin in a local shop that I intend to use as exiled Rhudaur loyalists. Any other points can be made up with allied characters from Rivendell!

Anyway, I've been lurking around here for a few months and decided it was time to join! You can see my initial efforts with Battle Companies for both forces and an AAR of my first game at my blog...

Lots more to come!
