Hey all,

Anyone used these with their newer rules? I'm trying to work out whether they are overpriced, it all seems to boil down to how much you think 'Impaler' is worth.

The Camel's S4 is also wasted, which you are paying for. :o

Giving them all poisoned blowpipes could be good for a small harassment force, to counter-charge once the lines meet.

Thoughts?

I think impaler is worth quite a lot personally, especially against other cavalry as charging bonuses are negated, but the rule kinda gives it back. I do wish they were a point or two cheaper, then I think they'd be exactly what they're worth, but i still think they're useful as they are

I find they almost always do well, and the Impaler rule is a big part of the reason. Just make sure to get them busy early in the game. You can't rely on them to stick around after breaking. Also, though I usually pay the points for the blowpipe, I haven't found them to be that effective. They aren't a good kiting force like Rohan. Punch hard, punch early, and take advantage of the chaos they cause.

Not to mention they look awesome...some of my favorite models in the game :)

Impaler is essentially a strength 4 throwing weapon that always hits, what's not to like?!?

Hahaha I see everyone's got a good opinion of them, not what I was expecting.
I guess if you give them lances, they are already S4 so they're going to be cutting through D4/6 like a knife through butter. Wounding Men of Minas Tirith w/ shields on 4+ with 4 strikes. 8)

After your opponents first experience against them, they will try hard to stay away from them. The free hit is almost too much to bear.

I love the muhad Raiders! Although I am with everyone else who were upset when they were nerfed, I still think they are worth thier points. I only give the blowguns to the infantry though since they can spam them better. Camels need to worry about charging.

Even better is what damage you can do when they are teamed up with a hero on camel, such as mahud kings...
Call a heroic fight and go to town with it, as he could charge again, thus inflicting a secondary S4 in the same turn.


I remember killing a balrog, with Mahud raiders and a king, so brutal, that impaler rule is simply badass, especially with warspears to boot

Yeah after I read this rule, I have been frantically search to find more of them without having to buy them at full GW price. Unfortunately, Ive found nothing. I did find the King though on ebay and quickly bought his metal self up.

I literally just got mine in from Ebay yesterday.

I'm not a fan of the Mahud warriors, but I think their Hero choices can really wreak havoc .

I am totally ready to throw down some Mahud Hurt...
(Mahud Bragging begins NOW!)

I converted a Haradrim with spear for a Chieftain.
Still need a sacrificial head though.

Got 2 Kings on foot and one mounted.

All requirements met for the Mahud Battlehost.
2 formations of 3 companies of Mahud Warriors.
2 formations of 3 companies of Mahud Raiders. (1 formation Blowpipes)
Annnnnnddd... 1 formation of 3 companies Half Trolls with 2 hand wepon.
1 formation of 3 companies Half Trolls with 1 hand wepon.
Mumakil with 12 Mahud with Blowpipes and the Mamuk Mahud.

I have some of it painted on my profile page, not much.
But I have the Raiders all based and currently in process to be painted.

So what is that like, 72 Mahud warriors + 12 on mumak, 12 raiders, 72 half trolls...? That's a lot of metal.
