Me too, I like a recount.. :P

Anyway, I'm also looking forward for a new one: I'm guessing I can participate in the next one since summer break will start in a month.

Some lovely featherwork there Grungehog. I was curious to see what people came up with for this one, as I have two Silmarillion characters currently on my workbench for clients.

Yes me too although the subject was a little too broad i think. I have tried to narrow it down more for th next challenge so hopefully we'll see more entries.

I would think that would encourage more entries not fewer. With a broad range people have more freedom to do something they actually want to do, whereas with a prescriptive list, if their option doesn't win, they're less likely to participate. That's my logic anyway.

I agree, but I think the lack of entries might also because we're close to the end of the academic/school year on the Northern Hemisphere.
I personally would've loved to enter this comp, but I was too busy, unfortunately. I will definitely enter the next comp though.

Agree with Feanor. There are a few tihngs going on in Australia with uni etc at this time so I think that was a good reason for the failure this time around.

It may have been a little too broad, but the fact that it was found in the Silmarillion only was enough to narrow it down I think. Keep up the good options - i think they are a good balance.
