Yes, it's stupid but the board needs to follow GW's 'policy' if they don't want to deal with their Lawyers from the Land of Shadow. I am sure what Gollum went thru in the Dark Tower is nothing compared to what GW's legal team is capable of.
I was out of the wargaming circles for over a decade until SBG brought me back in around 2005 and I found my way here shortly after. The "rules" imposed by GW on discussions here had been my only experience for several years until I started looking at some other game systems. I'm now interesed in three other systems by three totally different companies and not a single one of those is as draconian about their rules, profiles, etc. being discussed in detail on their own and community forums. Some even offer their basic rules for free as PDFs knowing the system is good enough that people will spend money on the full rules (which are priced reasonably enough as well). GW protects their IP like a dragon hordes gold rather than trusting that a quality, reasonably priced product with a loyal gamer population that feels appreciated and supported rather than oppressed results in better, wider sales.
