2 finecast sets. It has already been mentioned several times in many threads.

Not sure if this was mentioned yet, but... hunter orc captain?
As far as I am aware, there is not actually a model for them yet, other than substituting the pink orc for it for now.

I think Yazneg and Fimbul are basically the Hunter Orc Captains but it would be good to see a basic captain for them too.

Do you think there will be any more releases for the Goblin town army in the future?

I just feel that army list could do with a slightly stronger unit than the basic goblin warriors and i would rather not include Hunter orcs. I understand it's probably not possible as i see no indication from the film that they have any form of "elite's".

The Escape from Goblin Town rulebook implies that a good army model is the Escape box contents and the three trolls as your elite. Basically a comedy army. It would probably work.

Aye, that's true. I suppose adding the three trolls beats;

Goblin Captain
12 Goblin warriors

Goblin Capatain
12 Goblin warriors

Goblin Captain
12 Goblin warriors

Goblin Captain
12 Goblin warriors

and so on and so on....

Personally I could do with a couple more Goblin Captains and would like to see more poses!

In the film appear a group of goblins with bows. They can release a set with goblin archers, but who knows...

I could see the trolls being a fairly awkward addition to a goblin town force. They can't charge through goblins to get to their targets and unlike the goblin king who is very durable due to his blubber save, the trolls would get pincushioned with ballista shots because they are such an obvious target.

If you try to screen them with goblins their large basis will no doubt get stuck when you dowant them in combat, if you put them near the front every archer and warmachine will be pointed their way. Might buy you time to swarm forwards with your goblins though.

I remember seeing these guys in a blink and you'll miss it kind of way! I am surprised that no rules have been included for them, though I would be surprised if we don't see a release! Hopefully not fine cast!

A Goblin tracker would be most welcome as Evil in the Hobbit seem ballistically deprived!

At first I didn't even notice them, but there is a bit when Kili (I think?) uses a wooden ladder that he's holding to block a couple of arrows that are sent his way. Afterwards, I remember being struck by the rather conspicuous absence of bows in the goblin set. They would make an exceptionally easy house rule and conversion, though!

Personally I am grateful that we did not get a set containing 12 bowmen, 12 spearmen and 12 shields and like the tactical flexibility of the "Chittering Hoards" rule. Bowmen would allow Goblin town some ballistic support which at present is absent, and particularly as I enjoy using purest forces.

Good catch with the screenshot of goblins with bows i missed that! Because of a complete abscence of missile troops in the goblin horde (excluding Grinnah's pathetic scourge of course  ) surely a box set release of goblin archers will be up and coming in the future?

I haven't read the hobbit but having listened to the bbc audio drama i think it mentions that the goblins sent their fastest runners out to chase the dwarves. I would love it if GW brought out some goblin trackers too, maybe even give them a 6" movement speed aswell to make them stand out from the rank and file.

I think a goblin manned torture rack would be good, assembled and wounded like the Golden King with some special rules such as a psycholgical effect upon the enemy.

Just speculation but my prediction for the next starter set is the Dwarves capture. Thranduil, Legolas, Tauriel and the new Mirkwood Elves, with Thranduil throne and deco, and the Dwarves with Bilbo, all plastic.

That would need a bad guy army. Based off of the "sneak peak" that PJ gave us, I would say that it would be Legolas, Tauriel and Wood Elves vs orcs and spiders.

Do we know if GW will release a similar 'escape from Goblin Town set' when the next movie comes out? For LOTR they only had 1 (mines of moria) but that was released after ROTK.

They probably won't release the company again in the next starter set as that discourages people who've already got efgt.
They could keep continuing production of efgt though, that might work.

There were three before mines of moria for each movie
