I would rather have Dain kill Azog. He's so far been marginalized, even though he was the one who fought, beat and killed Azog outside Moria.

I agree with Draug; Dain needs to get a kill on one of the two 'big bad orcs'. But it'd be a bummer if Throin doesn;t get his revenge...

What? That wasn't in the movie, Azog survived, you nimrod! (obvious trolling)

The way the movies are going now, I don't see Dain killing any of both. there is no reason to believe it would lead up to that from a movie goers point of view.

Hmm, Dain needs to prove he is on par with Thorin, as long as that happens, i'll be content with PJ's interpretations.

I think Dain's role in the film will be limited to the emotional triumph of him actually showing up, after rejecting Thorin and his quest in AUJ. Film-wise, there's no satisfaction or gratification gained by having Dain kill any of the major villains. The same thing could probably be said for Beorn--the audience's heart will race when he actually shows up at the BoFA, but I don't think they would let him kill Bolg, assuming Bolg will be at the battle. I think the BoFA will play out a lot differently than in the book, and I also don't imagine Bilbo to be knocked out the whole time. In fact, I could see giving Bilbo a major role in the battle, using the ring to find opportune kills.

Moving off topic but when I saw it I thought of Slavic Peoples which I thought was fitting considering where they live.

Going of topic again, picture of two soldiers of Dale for those who talked men of Dale in this topic:

They do look alot like huns/mongol warriors

It should not be done any other way. I will be dissapointed if it does, and I actually loved the 1st film.

I agree that Borg could beat Thorin and then have Beorn kill Bolg like in the book.
But I feel that Dain should play a part in the death of Azog as he is well known in middle earth to be a bit of a bad-ass when it comes to killing orcs 8)

However this would in turn spoil the theme of Thorin getting his revenge. So...How about Thorin beats Azog in combat and is about to finish him off when Bolg strikes. This then leaves Dain to come in and finish the job on Azog and also kill his guards in the process? Then Beorn kills Bolg.

I just don't see Dain being given that level of prominence in the film, but that seems to me like the ideal scenario.

Yeah good point. We will see I guess. He is being played by Billy Connolly though so the character will surely have some degree of prominence.
