I got these guys in a big 25% off sale at my local store. (plus i really like painting Lotr models)
Anybody have any ideas on a decent list that could be built from what I have already.

You'll need some heroes, because with warbands you need 1 hero per 12 warriors. Are the urukhai from Isengard or Mordor? If the latter you have a pretty good start on a Mordor army, you just need a command blister and some decent named heroes like Grishnack or Shagrat, or some wraiths. Otherwise you can ally Mordor and Isengard, with some Isengard heroes like Ugluk or the basic Isengard command set.

Some goblin captains, a shaman, and Durburz would get your goblin army started.

Sauron and the Balrog aren't that useful until you have a bigger army.

Yeah i just recently got into the hobby. I also have a bunch of good models that I might take for a small point battle:
The fellowship
Thorin and Company
2 boxes of warriors of last alliance
12 riders of rohan
12 warriors of minias tirith
*noob question* can i use thorin and company or fellowship models as heroes for war bands?

Heroes can only have models from their own faction as followers in their warbands, so you can't have for example a warband of Aragorn and Warriors of Minas Tirith. You need Minas Tirith Heroes to lead Minas Tirith Warriors, Rohan Heroes to lead Rohan Warriors, High Elf Heroes to lead High Elf Warriors and so on.

That is sometimes really annoying. They should more heroes in multiple lists, as Aragorn should be able to lead the army of the dead and rohan warriors, and gandalf should be able to lead warriors of minas tirith. The only heroes that gw has done this with are elladan and elrohir (erigion+rivendell and Arnor)

In terms of what armies you can make, well, the goblin town set includes a full 350 point evil force that is actually very good, so to start off with i'd use that! After this i would (if i were you) create a warband of your more elite troops such as the warg riders, uruk hai, or hunter orcs. To do this you will need to buy a hero, or you could just nominate one of your pre existing models as a hero for that race. Something like this:

Warband 1:
Great Goblin
12 Goblin town orcs

Warband two:
Goblin scribe
12 goblins town orcs

Warband 3:
Grinnah
12 goblin town orcs

Warband 4:
Vrasku
8 uruk hai with shields/pikes

Total: 499 points

After this i'd recommend throwing in your balrog and maybe a moria goblin warband to get to 1000pts.

Oh and in response to your 'noob qustion', yes you can play the two companies alongside eachother, aslong as the fellowship heroes are only in a warband with other fellowship heroes and vice versa for Thorin's company (this is not a bad idea, i suggest playing some of the goblin town scenarios till you feel comfortable with 4-5 of the heroes and try fielding them like that)

Just to add to the 'noob' question regarding Thorin's Company.

At present only thorin, dwalin and balin can lead troops. But these must be dwarfs of erebor or grimhammers (pg 194 in the new book)

If you wish to use the rest of thorins company, they form their own single warband which may include any of the 13 dwarves, bilbo and Gandalf the grey. (same page ref as above)

Mid Sussex Wargamers

Hello guys! I would like to build an Angmar army in SBG between 1000 and 1500 points.
warband1: Witch king full power+horse+crown of morgul+morgul blade
12 orc warrior
6 with shield and spear
6 with shield
warband 2: Dwimmerlaik with arm horse
12 orc warrior same as warband 1
warband 3: Barrow wight
12 spectre
warband 4: Shade
warband 5: Buhrdur
1 Cave troll
warband 6 Barrow wight
warband 7 barrow wight
warband 8 Orc captain with shield
12 orc same as the others
Please help me to build this army. I wanna crush the armies of Good! and sorry for my english im from Hungary.

2 wraiths,3 barrow wights, and 12 spectres is a bit, how do you say, overkill? Especially if one of the wraiths isn't even the undying. If you can i would replace the dwimmerwaik's warband for trolls and orcs for Burdhur's warband. Also try splitting the spectres up and place them in the other warbands with the orcs.

Uruk hai are very powerful

The warriors have a base defence of 5 and Uruk hai crossbows have strength 4 and so do all Uruk hai

Do not get lurtz, he pays 5pts for a shield he can't use

Saruman is very powerful and Uruk hai bezerkers are beast in combat

However, without cross bowmen, or with scouts, Uruk hai are at a massive disadvantage when shooting, as the range and strength of Orc bows are terrible

Phalanxes are powerful formations and you must use them to your advantage, the front warrior has 3 attacks then

However, if playing vs elves, a phalanx can be completely nerfed in one turn by archery
