I voted for Numenor, they're abysmal to play due to their lack of update since the beginning of the game but the figures are really cool, I still live in hope of a new Numenor release someday, though the chances are slim. :(

It's only a 7" charge

have you seen white dwarf!! he can move 7 inches normally. then the plus 1 inch charge makes it 8" charge

page 15 of rule manual, if u are in controll zone then your model must charge him
(controll zone is 1 inch, so it is like having another inch move)

or am i wrong, i am confused :? :? :?

I think the 1 inch charge is included in the movement.

Just to clarify on the control zones issue, it's not that you get an extra 1" of movement to charge.

The way it works is, you're not allowed to move to within 1" of an opposing model unless you're going to charge that model (or that model has already been charged, compromising his control zone). So you have part of the rule right - if you move closer than 1" to an enemy then you must complete the charge. However, the second condition is that you can't move closer than 1" to an enemy if you aren't going to or aren't able to charge them. The book doesn't say anything about getting extra movement to complete the charge, it's just that you're not allowed to get closer than 1" if you aren't going to charge.

So suppose an enemy model is 6.5" away - he's too far away to charge (beyond your standard 6" movement) and you have to stop moving after 5.5" (one inch away from him). You don't get to move 6" so that you're so close you have to charge, and then magically increase your movement to make the charge.

However, the above situation is also easy to avoid since you are allowed to "pre-measure" in SBG, unlike in GW's other systems.

On-topic: I think the "best" army is probably either Isengard, Harad, or Gondor, but the coolest armies in my opinion are Mordor and Mirkwood. I also like the fiefdoms a lot.

I voted Mordor because of the sheer number of troops I can field and still have an epic hero back me up. That and I love my orc horde.

It has to be Mordor, and more specifically Dol Guldur also a well painted and fielded (with big variety) Mordor orc horde along with its Nazgul and tainted herose is a brilliant army....

Really? Doesn't that cause lots of problems?

You are wrong and confused :?

The one inch is part of the regular movement as Hirumith correctly laid out. If your movement is 6 inches, then your charge is 6 inches.

Yes, that's the truth, now can everyone stop using thread space and settle this argument?

Well, in the situation I was talking about what you would do is measure to see if the enemy is within 6". If he is, you can go ahead and move your guy in for the charge. If he's not, then you're not committed to moving towards the enemy but having to stop short - you can just move somewhere else instead.

I think you've misunderstood me. What I meant was does that rule make it more complicated in the other gaming systems?
