Arnor 750pts - good side

So i am prepareing for a tournament, and i know i can't finish my rohan army fast enough for it (all riders = double job) so i decided to get myself some Arnor figures and made this list :

1x Arvedui, Last king of Arnor 70pts
1x Captain of Rangers (Arnor) - Bow 55pts
1x Captain of Arnor - Shield 55pts

5x Dunedains of the North 120pts
5x Dunedains of the North - Spear 125pts

24x Warriors of Arnor - 2x Horn 232
11x Rangers of Arnor 88pts

TOTAL: 48 models - 745pts

I already have uruk army for my bad side, and i really need your opinion on this army build!

Captian of Rangers? Never heard of that unit.

Looks good, give 5 rangers spears to use up the last 5 points.

I would use Malbereth the Seer, cause his special rules in truly a killer :rofl:

lucky saves on 5+, thats a thing to consider, just keep him away from fighting :rofl:

the ranger captain profile was in the bgime magazine it uses the old damrod profile

Oh but that is an unofficial profile then? More like a friendly game use only, I don´t think that you can use him on a tourney...

Really take Malereth the Seer, he is very very useful. :rofl:

And this what you asked about Captain of Rangers, i called it this way cause he have bow and he will go with my ranger unit, true name Captain of Arnor xD

Actually i meant using both Avedui and Malbereth the Seer, as your going to need Arvedui´s stand fast and Malbereth´s "free fate" aura. Also I would suggest you add a Hornblower as well as he can really bolster your army, that +1 courage to all, on field is nothing to be over looked at, especially when playing with Arnor cause of their low courage.

All I am saying about the Captain of Rangers is that since he is not an official model, he cannot be included in a tournament. :rofl:

About captain, i will call him Captain of Arnor on tournament don't worry so i could use him :twisted:

And ill see about Avedui cause I am not sure if the maximum number of models will be 35, or 45 so if 35 is number of maximum models i will consider getting me Avedui :-D

Actually i would recommend replacing a regular captain with Arvedui... makes out the same... only better... something like

Arvedui-70pts
Malbereth-75pts

Warrior of Arnor Banner Bearer-38pts
40xWarriors of Arnor 2xHorn-232pts
10x Rangers of Arnor-80pts
10x Rangers of Arnor w/spear-90pts

it makes 63 models and 713 points...

Suit your self, might as well lose some warriors and rangers to add a hero or something

@mouth - that is one scary army...high numbers, better than average fight, lots of shots, everybody has a spear...

You could also ally with Gondor for some cavalry (using the Minas Tirith list). A bit less numbers, but some good mobility and hammer/anvil possibilities.

Well one thing it totally lacks is Might points... those 4 mights points (4 from Arvedui and one from Malbereth) are not going to last long... when used for heroic actions...

And also it will relay on swarming tactics, rather than strong herose... :rofl:

As for Might, I'm starting to lean towards giving it up for numbers (to a point), and Malbeth's magic/fate-save makes up for the lack.

I woun't aid my army with Arvedui nor use u army list (its very good =D), because on our tournament maximum number of models is 50 per army (Moria and Shire exceptions) so i will use use this list:

Yes, rangers with spears can shoot. The advantage of a spear is giving spear support, like any other spear-armed model.

I dont get it??? Why wount YOU USE ARVEDUI??? He is so much better than a regular captain, not to mention his stand fast... which is essential for Arnor.....

Because every time i have 40 models or smaller number i get crushed thats why :S Well ill try fix that with Arvedui maybe ill put him in my army who knows :S

But...mouth's army with ardevui has 63 models. How is that "40 models or smaller"?
