What hero would you advise me to take in a 500 or 700 point easterling force? Khâmul or Amdûr?

Khâmul always seems very dangerous. One of the guys at our gaming club has an Easterling army with Khâmul and an Easterling Captain.

I don't know about Amdûr, I've never seen him used. His rules look very though.

I guess it might depend on who your main enemy is. I think I'd be tempted to take both at 700 points. You could always try a few games using proxy models and see how they perform before buying the models.

I would suggest you take Khamul if You have some Cavalry but I would suggest taking Amdur if you have a tight pike-block, those re-rolls can be very usegul...

Then again Khamul has lot´s of nasty special rules and magic...like harbinger of Evil... etc...

I personnally would take Khamul on armored horse, but Amdur is nothing to be over looked at, support him with 2 pikes, and he becomes 4 attack uber hero...

Well i wont get kataspractes ( sry no idea how to spell) but some morgul-knights. But for the very first i only have foot easters and i will get both sooner or later anyway, so i only need to know what one to get first... Well the banner rule is certainly tough but i already got a banner what makes it a little less useful except my banner goes down...

What do you guys think about the rule with that he regains might for killing heros? I mean how many heros can an opponent in an 700 pt game have and how many of those will be probably killed by Amdur?

I guess the advantage of Amdûr's special rule is that he can use might more freely to kill enemy herores. Without his special rule it would be a harder decision about how to use might.

He would be great against Grey Company (lots of easy to kill minor heroes).

Could always try with Khamul and a dragon knight or two or Amdur and some dragon knights.
