Hello.
I’m new at this game and I would like you to help me with my Erebor’s 250pts army:

1x Dwarf Capitain with shield and throwing axes.
3x Iron Guards.
9x Dwarf Warriors with shield.
6x Dwarf Warriors with bow.
Total: 19 warriors; 2 might; 31,6% of archers; 250 points.

To expand this 250 points’ team to 500 points, I thought:
1x Gimli.
1x Dwarf Capitain with shield.
6x Iron Guards.
1x Dwar Warrior with banner.
14x Dwarf Warriors with shield.
10x Dwarf Warriors with bow.
Total: 33 warriors; 5 might; 30,3% of archers; 499 points.

Any sugestion? Probably Yes!

The first looks pretty solid to me, I wouldn't change a thing

The second is kind of low on numbers. If you take that many Iron Guard, you might as well drop the captain and take more troops. You end up with less might, but with dwarves so hard to kill it probably won't matter. Either that or drop the banner, but some people swear by them.

whafrog's advice is very good

I suggest that you increase the number of bowmen further (if you have the models).
Maybe 3 bows 4 shields instead of the captain.

1. love the first list (the only change i would make is swapping the captain and some guys for gimli cause i like him )

2. the second list is almost great and i for one swear by banners when i use dwarves (it double your chance of winning a fight). as was already mentioned.. you need more bows, and cause dwarves have high D they dont really need the shield and the bows are str 3!!! so get as many as you can

23x Dwarf Warrior with shield.
13x Dwarf Warrior with bow.
Total: 41 warriors; might = 3; 31,7% of archers; 497 points.

Does it look solid now?

Me too! Another good reason for a banner is that Dwarves (generally) have a higher Fight than their enemy, so a re-roll is of more value.

you also have a great model count, but if you want to you can swap out some dwarves for mabye 1-2 more iron guard (it wont make much of a difference)
just dont let the iron guard be shot at (cause thats what ppl will target)

so the list is amazing; you can change it a little bit to make it more your style and it will still retain its potency

I love Khazad Guard D7 S4 with an optional 2h weapon and the Bodyguard rule. I would drop one Iron Guard from your new list and take the remaining points and upgrade 9 warriors with shield to Khazad Guard. This will increase the overall strength of the army with out loosing its defense.

Yes. It looks great. I suggest you play with that list a bit then try Durin's folk's suggestion. Hope we hear about some glorious Dwarf victories soon.
