Guys, hoping someone can give me some help working with layers in Photoshop.
To give you an idea of what I am trying to do:
Recently I have completed the Assault on the Deeping Wall scenario from TT JB. The board is fairly narrow at 60cm, and any shots of the battle in full swing reveal alot of unnecessary background; of the room, people wandering cats beer tops etc etc... ;-)
What I want to do is superimpose my picture of the figures on the table scaling the wall, against a picture of a rocky valley wall, so the background look right for the battle.
This obviously means using two layers but I cannot figure it out.
Any help appreciated.
Baby steps type walk through would be cool.
Cheers
Scott

Its not hard at all but you need to know how to use the marquee tools or the wand.

1. Open the table picture.
2. Use the marquee tool (lasso, square or wand) to select the parts you want to remove; press Delete after you have everything selected.
3. Select all and copy to the clipboard.
4. Open the rocky background picture.
5. Paste the clipboard.

This should work fine if the pictures have the same size.
Hope it helps.

PS. Check this article: http://www.one-ring.co.uk/phpBB2/kb.php ... icle&k=140
Its not exactly the same thing but might help you anyway with the marquee tools and that.

thanks for that, the link especially.
I almost managed it, unfortunately the foreground and background images were different sizes, so I only got a tiny bit of my foreground pic in the background. Plus oddly the background rock image must have been black and white initially, as when I pasted the foreground image of models to it, the foreground image went black and white too!
Oh well, I'll keep messing about with it.
Cheers

Or cut out the middleman and take your terrain/minis to a LotR location (you are in New Zealand!) and hey presto - job's done.
