I had the unfortunate task of going to the dentist last week which turn out quite productive as my dentist gave me a bag of dental plaster that is no good to him as it dries to quickly. Is there anybody else that produce modelling molds other than Hirsts as I can’t justify nearly £200 to build Helms Deep or even weathertop

Hirst are the only one I am aware of, though I have heard of modellers making their own rubber moulds and working from those.

I make my own molds sometimes, if I am planning on making lots of the same features again and again.
HirstArts molds are very good though and will last for ages - they are good value.
