Numenorean Lord was right! :D 8) Its thier eyes. When Frodo and Sam meet Gollum for the first time, he complains about the rope, and says

"We guessed they were nasty Hobbits. They visits Elves, fierce Elves with bright eyes"

He mentioned the Elves eyes a few more times, so it isnt just a once off!
But Numenorean Lord, its your turn!

It was by luck that I had just finished the Taming of Smeagol chapter the night before :-D
This is quite easy:
2 part Question....
How many houses of the Dwarves(clans) lived in the East of Middle-Earth?

And what were their names?

I dont know why you think this is an easy question...unless you just read about it.

Have to admit, I partially knew the answer (or think I do), but had to research 3. Even with that, not sure if I am right.
Names in Bold are what I am pretty sure of.

7 clans in the east.

1. Ironfists
2. Stiffbeards
3. Blacklocks
4. Stonefoots
5. Longbeards
6. Firebeards
7. Broadbeams

Technically you are correct DB. The clans in bold are the ones I was looking for and the answer is 4 aswell. Since you basically answered them its your turn DB :yay:

Well 'technically' I got it wrong .. for some reason I had '7' stuck in my head :?

Thanx for letting me have...I wouldn't have been so nice...but thats just me

Question:
During the Fourth age, Aragorn or 'King Ellesar' rather, returned to a certain place where he uncovered many of Isildurs heirlooms. One item in particular seemed to be a casket to hold the One Ring.

What place did King Ellesar return to ?

Thanks Brian. My question is:

What two pieces of clothing are associated with the royal couple of Doriath?

Is this a trick question ?

Elu Thingol translates as Greycloak

Melian set an enchantment around Doriath that was known as The Girdle of Melian

I hope it was a trick. :-) Cloak and girdle are indeed the correct answers. Your turn, Brian.

Sticking with the Orthanc (not Pasi) theme (anyone who hasn't worked this out yet, Valpas's real name is Pasi).

In 'Old Eglish' (yes, real Old English), what does 'Orthanc' translate as ?
