What to say... I've opened the reply box a few times in the last few days, and always ended up with a blank box.

The guys above said pretty much everything. Even if we don't actually know each other, we are all a little familly. The years pass by, and we are all still here, we get used to see the usual avatars, the usual comments, etc... In a way, we learn to know each other pretty well, even if miles apart. And we certainly miss when someone stops posting for a while.

My point is... we are with you! Fight against whatever sh1ty stuff that shows up and we are here to help in the best way we can. Being here.

Now stop complaining and go make some new fancy hobbits. ;)

Bad news indeed Bilbo!
We haven't met or exchanged many comments, but I feel for you and your family.

The uplifting part I see in all of this is you are truly loved by your friends on this site and your wife, and for that you are blessed beyond words.

keep up the fight!

Well Dave, it seems people have shifted away from concern and support and are now demanding that you get off your fat ass and back into the hobby.

Who am I to buck the trend?

:shout: CONVERT SOMETHING!!! :shout:

Romanes eunt domus!

It would be Brian who would refer to 'The Life of Brian'.. maybe the surviving Pythons would be interested in making 'The Life of the Other Brian', a Tesco night-managing rebel (Batman with a shopping cart?), fighting against the occupying forces of Lidl and Aldi....

As some of the others have indicated, I also had problems deciding what to write here. Following a couple of aborted attempts, I think I should at least let you know that I have been praying for you and your family, and I will continue to do so. I hope that your attacks remain few and far between, and I look forward to seeing your future accomplishments, which will be that much greater for the adversity you will have overcome.

Well, I must say that I'm at a loss for words as well. I can't say that we've interacted a huge amount on here, but you're one of those guys who puts a sense of community into this website; just you being here is enough. Hang in there, keep fighting! We're all cheering you on!

Now, onto the Hobbit supplement: Strange as it may seem, I was just considering doing one myself. I've only recently gotten a box of Dwarf Rangers to paint up as Thorin's Companions, painted up a Gandalf model to a better standard than I'd done before and dusted off all my Goblins. I'm also in the midst of putting together a number of Goblin Wolf Riders and my interpretation of the Great Goblin. Unfortunately I'm not much good with illustrations and such, but you just tell me what needs to be done conversion-wise or for profiles and backstory and I'll see to it!

Ps: Just realized reading Dagorlad's post that you're in Niagara! I live in Burlington, which is a ways closer than Toronto, just beyond Hamilton Ontario.

Hmmm, I really should venture into the general discussion forum more often. I had no clue about this until you referred to it in your Elrond thread, Dave.

I'm sorry this has happened to you buddy. I know you've had a bit of a bad run lately and now this to top it all off. You are a top bloke, always providing words of encouragement to others when they need motivating the most. You were one of those who helped me decide to start up a little mini business of my own and for that i'm grateful.

Although there will undoubtedly be tough times ahead, Your positive attitude and refusal to let this thing turn your life upside down is refreshing and typical of your character, and with support from such a loving partner I know you'll be ok.

The hobby work that you've shared with us over the years has been inspirational and it's good news to hear that you intend to continue. (Heck, you're one of my best customers!)

It's not much in the grand scheme of things, Dave, but I'm gonna send you out one of my new Ents. You've had a tough year, and if nothing else it will hopefully put a smile on your face buddy. 8)

I have not been feeling too good myself lately, so much so that I visited the Docs the other day.
He was so concerned he sent me to hospital for scans, and I am sorry to say...I have been diagnosed with 'Dagorladtitus'.

There is no known cure for this...the end is nigh

I've heard of that, but I think you have spelt it incorrectly Brian. you need to put a space between the 'd' and the 't' and then delete the 'u'.

In the smoky great room of the inn, the wizened old man beckoned his audience to come closer. With bated breath they eagerly awaited his tale, unaware of what wonders it may reveal. The old man adjusted himself on his stool and finished lighting his pipe.

"Listen, lads and lasses, as I tell you of how a forum thread descended so low as to concern itself with male mammary glands..."

If he's got Dagorladtitus, I probably need a DurinsBanectomy.
