Just letting everyone know, the One-Ring domain name is up for renewal next month and so are the hosting fees. The total charge for this lot comes to about $100 US (around £50) and thanks to the generous donations of several members (one person in particular) we're well covered to meet this cost this year without it having to come out of mine or Brian's pockets.

And we should have enough left over to provide some excellent prizes for next September's OR Awards too.

So thank you all for helping out and making this site such a success.

So Brian's ploy of standing outside with a sign saying 'Will stop singing for money' paid off at last...

This is an interesting idea Mitch, thanks for the suggestion. I'll talk it over with Brian (DurinsBane) and see what he thinks. In the meantime, have a Gold Coin.

Did Brian ever tell you my idea for fundraising?

Well, it involved jelly and swimming trunks...

Nope, wrong idea.

It is a logistical nightmare though...

I had suggested getting a few (lots) of members of the forum to all paint and donate a mini, until we had a full case of them, then auctioning it off on ebay to raise funds.

It would require a lot of planning.

We tried that once as a fundraiser for charity and it was a disaster. Then Tidoco tried it on his site and, yep, it was a disaster there too.

Yep it was a disaster, I still live in hope that it will come off though, anyhow I haven't donated for a while and it is good to hear that this years fees are covered I have donated in the past and will do again in the future. If it is prizes for the Awards I'll gladly donate Lotr minis for prizes if you need them as I have more than I can ever paint by myself.
