Some amazing entries this month, bloody hell guys, you had to up the standard. Some really unique pieces here, I really love the pirates, the perry minis and the easterlings are all really exceptional to me.

And to all of the other entrants, fantastic job.

Incredible choices this month - hard decision as usual. I chose Halauas for the stirling conversions and great improvements he's making, as well as stunning paintjob.

I thought I had a chance until Halauas entered those Helmingas. They are too good!

This is terrible... no matter who I pick it will be unfair on the rest! Very well done guys, some amazing pieces in there and pretty photos to give us a really good look at the excellent work.

For myself it had to be Harfoot. All the entries look great, and I love those Helmingas, but Harfoot's entry is the best painted

Wow - A great set of entries. Difficult choice but the Helmingas stood out above all others. Delighted to get a couple of votes myself among all brilliant warbands (thank you).

Rough choice between YOrcshire and Harfoot, but Harfoot you just did it for me.

If it were an over all mini contest, factoring in sculpting and presentation I'd have gone with Halaulas, but I went with Smeagol for the black guards this month. Struck me as the most consistent all round. Some great stuff from newcomers too, esp YorcShire.

Dorth if it makes your choice any easier, on Merry's base the mushroom is made from a panzerfäuste I chopped up. That's almost a baz00ka after all lol

Thanks for the votes.

The standard just keeps going up every month.
Halauas's Helmingas are just brilliant really love the conversion work.

I always vote before seeing the results or others comments.
Total slam dunk this month. Congratulations!
I cannot wait to embarrass myself when I paint mine this winter.

I had to go with Halauas' wonderfully converted Helmingas this month.
I was very impressed with Smeagol's Black Guard's painting. It was marvellous.
Exciting stuff from all the others as well, especially the beginners.
I hope I'll be able some time soon to enter also, so far either I had some commission works to do which were in contradiction with each month's contest or due to a health problem I can't paint.
It's fun to work against the "clock".

YorcShires Grimhammers got my vote this month. I find it hard to resist a well painted dwarf.

I also liked Smeagol's entry as well. Go the bad guys!

There were a number of other entries that looked pretty good but were harder to judge due to the photos. I think the hardest part about this comp is not the painting but taking the picture!

I will also say that Halauas' Grimbolds Helmingas are fantastic. I was pretty sure he would get a lot of votes.

Smeagol got my vote this month. Very crisp and clean paint job and a great uniform look to the unit, as warbands should have. Whilst I don't usually go for the clean orc look, in this case it has worked perfectly and the painting itself is very well executed.

All the other entries were also excellent so well done to everybody involved.

Holy cow that was a tough one. My vote went to Halaus' Helmingas, but the runner up for me is definitely Harfoots Men at Arms. I love the use of alternative miniatures.

Great work from everyone as usual, another very tough choice.

Halauas gets my vote this month for the wonderfully evocative paint job and conversions - a genuinely unique warband. I'd also like to give a special mention to Smeagol's Black Guard who also look amazing.

I think a few other entrants were let down by the photographs which made it very hard to make out the details on the models - it's a shame as some of them looked very promising. I always struggle with photographing my models though so it's understandable.

Great work as always guys, I'm hoping to enter my first painting challenge in some time this month - we'll see!

Words cant describe how can i thank everyone for all the votes! It never even passed from my mind that the concept of helmingas will be so liked and really glad monthly challenges like this happen because its a great chance not only to reduce backlog but also to push the painting limits thru the spirit of competition (always on friendly way :) ).

I personally really liked all the entries, each one better than the other, especially alatar of rhuns corsairs (that parrot was amazing idea!) and harfoots fiefdom knights, i really want to buy them aswell after seeing such a wonderful result.
