None of that is really any news

We can be sure the box will have the "Unexpected Party"
We are fairly confident on dates

They wont call it Battle of the Five Armies because that is already a GW specialist game

Regarding Phoenix's note, I'm pretty sure I remember seeing The Battle of Five Armies box set under Specialist Games on the Games Workshop website earlier in the year, but it disappeared about a month or two ago. I suppose I shouldn't be all that surprised, but its a little sad to see it wiped from existence.

Going back on topic though, I'm not entirely sure what to expect. It's possible by all means, but personally I can't see there being a particularly large focus on WOTR, even when the second/third film is released. Y'never know though, there's plenty of time for me to be proven wrong!

well it's not really news but the fact that there are rumours of a new WOTR sort of game is still pretty exciting and worth mentioning.

I think to think it's unlikely that it will be called after Battle of the Five Armies but a focus on it would be more realistic. After all it's not a battle in the war of the ring at all!

Let's just hope for the best and see another update of a WOTR game in a few years after The Hobbit SBG has died down again just as it did after the last LOTR film
