I don't really use magic that much but I'm starting to think I should start. I'm a bit unsure about the wording though on page 71 under counter spells
Quote:
When a magical power is successfully used on a target already under the effect of a spell it can counter, both the new spell and the existing spell cease to Work and have no futher effect that turn

How does this work??

Many spells list what they are a "counter spell" to. If the target of your spell is already under the effect of the appropriate "counter" then when you cast your spell the two cancel out and neither has an effect.

For example I believe Wings of Terror and Entangle are counters (might be wrong...this is mostly for example purposes). If someone casts Entangle on your formation and you are able to cast Wings of Terror after then it will cancel out Entangle. You gain no other benefit from Wings of Terror from that casting other than lifting the Entangle. If you can cast a second WoT after from another spell user then you can benefit from that second casting as normal.

What if you call Strength from corruption on your formation twice using 2 wraiths, does the counter enfeeble nullify both or just one?

I don't know if this was FAQ'd or not but I believe a single counter should dispel what's cast. It would complicate things to keep track of results of multiple spells and try to decide which one (in cases where a 6 gives better results for example) is displelled, etc. I think most magic in WotR is beyond what it should be for a ME game anyway. Cast one counter and eliminate all of the original spells, regardless of how many were cast.

Without an FAQ this is just my opinion but is how we do play locally.

That is how I read the rules as well. I am not sure the designers even considered the possibility that one formation could have the same spell cast on it multiple times and that is one of the reasons why it is not more explicit how counters work.
