I would get another 2 boxes of Galadhrim, Wood elves, and High elves if you're going to continue collecting them. I would also get Celeborn and Galadriel. |

thanks for the advice, im currently working on 12 Galadhrim Knights and another 24 Galadhrim Warriors. i have found in a recent battle i had with a hurk hai army that my infantry where quite easily wiped out, leaving my archers to win the battle so i dont know if it would be worth just using more archers and the infantry are relitivley weak. |

It's very often worth getting a lot of archers for elves and uruks (though it is expensive for uruks) but move full-speed until you are in short range as S1 really sucks unless you're fighting a lot of D5 or D3. But it is worth having some good infantry. In my army, I've had on massive formation of high elves with glaives as the center of my battle line with 2 smaller formations of archers guarding the flanks. It's really worked for me. Maybe get a big, chunky formation or two of Galadhrim with shields and then guard the flanks with archers and attack the enemy's with your cavalry. Also don't be afraid to get those archers into combat. If you're lacking punch, it's not worth it to shoot and not be able to charge. HTH. |

i made the mistake of deploying my archers at the rear of my army, crealy the could not shoot through my infantry, so thanks for the info on the flank archers , i think i need a good chunk of infanty in the center like u said . n ill just use my knights to ride n shoot n weaken the other army. i have a battle against the Haradrim next week, i know he has loads of archer cavarly. so i think im goin to struggle in this one, as my Glorfindel is not mounted i only have the foot Glorfindel i think if i get the mounted version quickly i could just use him to wip them out as he moves 20' |

Perhaps get a spell caster? Someone with spells of the wilderness would be very good against Haradrim. Nature's wrath will do a lot of damage and entangle will ruin his plans for his cavalry. |

Just blu-tac your Glorfindel on a cavalry base if you want to use him without bothering to invest the money in another version. But don't put too much faith in him. He's good but any H2K model can easily go down on the first round of combat to a 6, and a VH2K is only a little more resilient. Keep him buffered, casting spells for you, and use his movement advantage to help places where you already have a decent engagement going on and could use a little assistance (swing him in for a flank or rear charge for example). Personally though I'd just let my opponent know that your Glorfindel model is a stand in for Celeborn until you get a chance to pick up the Lord of the Galadhrim for real. I think Celeborn in a 4 Company Formation of Galadhrim would serve you better than Glorfindel and be cheaper on points to boot. Having the whole Formation use his Fight is very effective. Also, if you can trim some of your Epic Heroes for some games and instead include Gandalf on occasion you may find some of his special rules and spells can really help (knock your enemy's Fight down to zero and then charge with a Formation sharing Celeborn's high Fight ). Otherwise, you're on the right track with another couple sets of Galadrhim warriors and a decent size Formation of Knights. One more box to beef up your Wood Elves for support and flanking actions and you'll have a good force once you get used to their quirks. |
