As the subject heading implies, my friends and I are liking the rules, but we aren't ready to start an entirely new set of figures. We all have WHF armies. does anyone else use their fantasy armies for WoTR?

If it takes hold, we will probably dive into the actual range--beautiful figs--but until we have played a few times I doubt any will spend money to reenvent the wheel.

Your local group should have no problem with you using proxies early on. I was using some plastic toy owls as Eagle stand-ins for a couple games since I wasn't sure how well they'd perform and I didn't want to sink the money into the minis until I knew.

If you're forced to play at an official GW store then you may want to ask, but even there I would hope they'd say "sure" for at least a few games.

The most important thing would be to be sure it's very obvious to everyone exactly what each model represents. You may need to make little tags to put on the Company bases for example.

I've seen a number of different models used on WotR armies, but I've never seen warhammer models used, as they really don't fit.

However if you're just looking to proxy while you work the game out, go for it. Probably best to play amongst yourselves or else let others know in advance you're going to be using proxies.

I'm thinking of using some warlord miniatures (imperial roman legionaries) as Warriors of Minas Tirith.
