Post subject:  Question on the Bane Rule

Had great fun the other night with a friend of mine but we came up with a question.

If you have say Gimli in a company and he has Orcbane but the company does not and you roll to hit, should you roll 7 dice for the company and then 1 separate dice for Gimili with the +1 for the Orcbane?

yeah, I hear that, not sure why it would take this long to post a FAQ or errata online.

The consensus in our group is that the command company benefits from such rules as Bane and Spirit Grasp

well based on the fact that the rules say the company/formation doesnt unless specified, we went with only Gimli having it

a whole company with orcbane and epic rampage? why even roll, its over at that point.

our question was more if even Gimli gets it or if that is just for when he duels.

I could go either way on that.

It is, unfortunately, a situation that GW really needs to FAQ. However, I would like to point out that while the combination of Epic Rampage and Orcbane is definitely nasty, there's a fairly simple solution to it- don't throw orcs at him. He can only Rampage so many times. If you're an Evil player, make him burn his Might by using magic. I've burned out formations of Might points by just constantly pounding them with spells they cannot afford to ignore. I'd recommend trying out the Tainted with a unit of Morgul Knights and see how Gimli likes it, especially if you give Gimli his Bane rule and the Tainted Spirit Grasp.

That is true, it is a matter of learning how to counter it, good debate for sure.
