does anyone actually have any views on my previous post, my gaming group are trying to decide whether to houserules the entire book to get rid of many of the flaws or to wait for a possible 2nd edition we don't really mind waiting a year to 18 month for a new edition but if its going to be in like 5 years to never at all then we should start houseruling

so what do you people think

If there will be a new edition of WotR, it will come out Dec 2013 at the earliest, probaly at least June 2014 or later. If ever that is. I am 75% sure that There will never be a WotR 2nd Edition.

Here are some very good house rules which may help you to get started writing some of your own:

http://roughwotr.blogspot.co.uk/2011/11/war-of-rings-houserules-2011-edition-i.html

From what I understand though, WoTR will continue to be fully supported by GW but as an expansion to SBG, much like Storm of Magic and Apocalypse for WHFB and 40k. So I do see an updated version of the rules being released as a supplement to SBG and very possibly in the next 12-18 months.

Just some food for thought...
