Hey guys I recently knocked up a little Fangorn / Mirkwood Forest board for our Battle Companies campaign and thought I'd turn the process into a little tutorial showcase for those that are inteested. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G5VtEtqks6k& Check it out ~Hasufel |

I think that would be very helpful. I actually do like the time lapse as it shows the project from start to finish quite well, but for example the early step about attaching the bases of the trees to base and also the exact technique for gluining the clumps to the branches would both be cool to see closeup and in a bit more detail. But also understand you’ve got to balance your avavialbr time and adding those steps may slow you down a bit as week. Either way, like I said it’s a great video ! |

What I find really interesting is that there is quite a bit of open meadow in the forest. Now I completely don't mean this as an insult, so please don't take it that way. I love the project and am totally planning on unabashedly copying it. My question is, are you planning on keeping it as is for gaming reasons? How many copses do you need to have balance in the forest? Should a forest be weighted towards elves for play reasons; is that fair? |

Thanks man, yeah this one was sort of a test to see if there was a good response to more of a tutorial focus, so I'll definitely go a bit more detailed for the next one; the gates of Edoras. Cheers GKA This board is pretty much designed for the battle companies mirkwood scenario, obviously it's all movable so for a more competitive board I'd definitely mix in some rock work and other elements, to help lessen the advantage of those faithless woodland sprites! ~Hasufel |
