Putting together my Haradrim Raiders, I had an extra banner.

Image

Remembering I had a temple model I had bought at a museum store in South Korea, I put the banner on top.

The corner "posts" are beads. I had originally thought of using deer point beads but they were too expensive. At the bead store I found these plastic shark(?) teeth that would work well as Mumak tusks.

Image

Relatively easy to fill in the bead holes and drill out the plaster to mount them on the corners.

While the beads were relatively cheap at 50 cents each I have since looked online and can find them in bulk at much cheaper. Have to think how to use more of them as I paint my Harad army.

Still playing on how big to build the platform and walls for the temple, but as long as I am casting plaster for the Gondor Outpost, what is a few more castings.

That's really neat. The tusks are a great idea.

That temple model has worked a treat. Tusks are a good addition as well. Have you chosen a colour pallet for the model?

Not yet, got any ideas?

Another use of the horns that is rather simple is a wall

Image

What I want to share this time is the find I got at Michael's here in the states for $2.60 (40% off normal price). A plastic set of deer horns. Still haven't decided how to use it.

Image

Since it is rubber it is easy to cut off the different points and shape as to how you want to use them.

All cut up. The skull part I'm thinking could be used as a tree trunk (should have left the bottom two points on there for a bigger tree), several sizes of horns that can be used in dioramas, and a metal pole that I have no idea what I'm going to use it for but into the terrain bits box it goes.

Oh, you wouldn't believe what gets accumulated in my bits box. I think the weirdest find lately was dryer lint. There are also spices and toothpicks, so at least it smells nice. It's not even a box anymore, it's multiple boxes.

Couldn't resist doing something with the tusks. Just a simple defensive position.

Of course now I have to go buy more....

Feel like I should go pulp gaming and build a elephant graveyard or have some ivory poachers or something.

Had to do another trip to buy more antlers - larger ones this time.

Entrance to Harad

Image

Not too sure about size of thread/rope - might redo with something smaller but needed to be significant to hold them together.

Needed something, a flag or maybe an eye. Made one out of pine needles.

Tried it on for size

Still needs some touchup and fastened to the tusks.

Love the creativity of your work! Keep it up! :yay:
The entrance looks very fitting for Harad indeed.

Messed around with some more antlers this weekend while watching american football.

Tried out my painting scheme where I wanted to use Vallejo Iraqi Sand as my base so I painted a small board with it and took it to a local hardware store where they matched the color and made me a quart (946ml) of it.

Used Agrax Earthshade as a wash, think I need to thin it down some, came out a little darker than I think I want. Need to use my finer pumice around the tusks also, too coarse looking I think.

Not sure if this is a standalone piece or a stairway up into the temple base.

I like the look of this, but might tear off the tusks and try again.

Kicked myself, after using a wash you should always drybrush after.

Drybrushed with Iraqi Sand and lightened it up and brought out the detail more. Still should have used finer pumice though.

What if you add Sauron's spirit/portal form at the end as seen in Dol Guldur. Not the eye, and I know the terminology is wrong, but it is the best way to describe it. You could also make a platform for a Modor War Catapult or a watchtower to attach it to instead. Stone base, 4 wood posts sticking up, a ladder going up through a hole in an octagonal floor, and hide siding like on a Mumak. Would make a good sentry post/objective.
