Post subject:  I need some fort building inspiration

I'm planning on spending this Saturday building a wooden fort for use in my sbg campaign. The fort will be our second largest city. Our castle is 2'x2' I believe so I wa thinking about building a 1&1/2'x 1&1/2' fort. Anyone have pictures of a similar project I can get some inspiration from? I was thinking about using insulation board for the outer walls and then gluing balsa wood strips to it to get the wooden fort look. I wanted wooden gates on two sides.
So any input or pictures would be really appreciated

One option is to make a palisade fort using barbeque skewers, 1" insulation foam and balsa wood.

Check the tomes of wisdom at the top of the site. Under buildings on page 2, Dagorlads Edoras is one of my favourites, maybe that could give you some good ideas.

I don't know if you have access to it, but the "A Shadow in the East" supplement has a small fort and instructions that sounds almost exactly like what you are describing.

Be warned if using bamboo barbecue skewers. I've always found them difficult to cut, they tend to fray and splinter when using a pliers or snips. Maybe try a small saw.

Googling palisade wargaming and wooden fort wargaming seems to bring up a few interesting results which might be of use to you:
