It is a nice improvised layout. Very cool. Nice start on the Star Wars Model too.

Thanks Gene, the Ewok made me laugh. Alternative universe perhaps?

Hmm. Ewok versus The Defiler. I back the Ewok. They fight harder as they are still angry at their portrayal in Return of the Jedi. Angry Bears.

The Ewok makes me wonder, wouldn't a Star Wars Strategy Battle Game be cool?

Beorn looks fantastic!

Would you consider taking a new picture of Azog with his base finished and all?

Yeah I'll take a proper picture in daylight when I get a chance. Thanks for the compliments.

There is one. It's not exactly the same but I used to play it

Edit: the Ewok is far more terrifying then the bear ever could be everyone knows they're little demon-bears

Wow haven't done anything substantial in over a month. Lost my painting mojo a bit. Anyhow I woke up today determined to get a move on with Isengard. First up Saruman (FOTN). Possibly my favourite version.

I tried a few new techniques such as wet blending and composite priming, as well as continuing work on glazes. Pretty happy with it, still a bit to go on the wet blending (used a normal pallette) but I'm determined to up my game in painting henceforth.

Kudos to Minimal Monkey Saddle, from whom I poached some techniques

Most happy with the purple and grey glaze around the eyes. Give it that old man look. C&C welcome.

That looks a great leap forward with your painting, definitely heading in the right direction.

Great mini! This one is on my short list to paint. I love the pose as well. The eye glaze worked very well. Now, get that puppy based up and call it done!

Neat and tidy Saruman- he looks really great! I like the intensity of skin tone in contrast to the more muted tone of the robes. Has the effect of drawing the eye to his face, which is very nicely painted.

Thanks guys. The biggest step forward was the reduced time. Instead of going back and forth highlighting too much, shading too much over and over etc.

The Ewok made me chuckle.

Saruman is cracking, love this sculpt too - really nice job. It's made me want to paint the opposing Orthanc Gandalf I have lying around to take him on!

Really regret not buying that set back in the day. They've released better sarumans (although that one was my favorite til fotn) and the new gwahir is much better, but I cant get hold of that gandalf easily. GW Dublin had a cracking version on display years ago, complete with bloody face. Very well done
