This is just intriguing to me after playing the BOFA while I work on some figures. How do you guys use horde troops? I know you can mass goblins, orcs, laketown men etc. But I also notice mixes. I see people throw in some Men of Dunland with Isengard, or laketown with Elven elites. What in your opinion is the best? There is no right and wrong but Im curious. I have done both to be honest. But I tend to like to mix rather than simply horde out. |

i use my mass goblin army with this view in my mind " oh he died no matter i have 60 more" so i have little regard on my troops safety. and yes its difficult for my opponents to defeat that army list i have for my moria army |

I play high elves, so I like to have big heroes (like the twins and Gil-Galad for example) and a D6 frontline of spear and shield guys supported by Laketown Guard spearmen led by Alfred to boost numbers. It doesn't matter how good/bad the spearmen are when the have elves in front of them; that's why people use Laketown and elves, as you get numbers, you get high fight, and you get defence. The only thing you don't get is decent killing power. That all comes from heroes or supporting natures wraths or sorcerous blasts. |

a pure horde army can be really annoying simply because it can afford to lose as many units as it needs to accomplish its objectives. One down, another will take his place. and so on. Even elites cannot win every fight against lowly goblins. |
