If legolas has one enemy in front of him and several behind him, can he shoot 3 arrows, kill the one in front and then use any remaining hits on the ones behind him? Or does he need to specifically assign each arrow before shooting, or do all enemies need to be in the same field of view? Thanks! |

Technically you should shoot one at a time and work them out individually. However, that's not how most people would do it. If you were playing me (and I think most people would be OK with this) I'd let you roll all 3 shots at once (lets assume all 3 hit) and then roll the first one to wound the guy in front, if you kill him then you could use the remaining 2 on the guys behind, if he survived you could use another hit to try and kill him again. To be honest, the most common way I see people play is declaring their preference order. So (assuming Legolas needs the same to wound the guy in front as the guys behind) most people just say "I'm prioritising model A, B, C. You would then roll all 3 dice to hit (lets say all 3 hit) and then all 3 dice to wound (lets say 2 wound) and then remove models A and B. It makes no difference to the likelihood of killing and speeds the game up significantly. |

The more important thing is rolling the Wound dice one at a time, unless of course all models have the same Defense. |

Provided that: a) all targets are equally visible (no in-the-ways) b) all targets have the same defence (or same wound roll required) ...then we normally allow all the shots to be rolled together, then all the wounds of any hits to be rolled together. However, before rolling the wounding dice the shooter nominates targets in kill-order preference just to avoid confusion. You can do this whether it's Legolas shooting three times, or you have a row of shooters all firing at an enemy block. It definitely speeds things up. |
