I was just wondering what Gondor armies people enjoy playing. I usually play at 500 points never more than 750. My army is pretty standard consisting of
Beregond and 12 rangers
Denethor and 12 WOMT -6 spear and 6 shield
Damrod and 12 WOMT - 6 spear and 6 shield
Banner
with the extra points (at 500 points games) I like a arnor captain with shield and 4 army of the dead their a great distraction and pretty good against evil models with low courage. It works but its becoming a bit dull . Any thoughts on something different? I've got most minas tirith pieces a few dwarfs and tree beard.

Personaly I would take out denethor warband and use treebeard. Then take out damrods warband and put in cavalry with faramir to lead them.

Tree beard is a lot of fun to use and very good at stomping orcs

Treebeard is good but I wouldnt put in knights of minas tirith. Their FV is too poor to be effective. especially if you come up against a hoard army like orcs or goblins where they will outnumber you 2:1 at the best of times. maybe add in some fountain guard, the FV4 comes in handy and they are a decent defence.

the biggest problem i have with komt is non armoured horses combined with lances. they are dismounted at range too easily, and with their fight value they tend to loose enough to get dismounted in combat too, which makes their lance into nothing. that's why swan knights are better even though they look too pricey on paper. With imrahil they turn death star really easily.

With the new rules, I think tree beard is a great addition. Maybe even throw an eagle in instead. x
