I had nothing better to do so I just played the Cirith Ungol scenario by myself and for every 1 Uruk with shield I had about 3 with 2Hers and they got absolutely hammered by Orcs supported with spears fortunately Mordor Uruk's side won because Shagrat and Sam were both racking counts left and right and the Orcs all fled coz failed courage test lol. So my point is for all you master tactician, how effect are 2H weapons and how should you use them? I'm thinking of getting a banner so they can re-roll. |

2H weps = lower chance to win a battle and higher chance to wound in a nutshell. So 2H weps should lose more fights but get more kills. Now how to counterbalance this is to always have a normal unit accompany a 2H, theory bieng normal unit wins the fight and the 2H wounds. Isen's berzerks are scary however as they not only have 2 attacks, but have a high fight, so they win all ties, making them quite potent by themselves. |

Pretty much just what Battalia said. There not that useful imo but if you are going to use them you have to have another unit with a hand weapon to fight with the ones with 2hs. I guess there also pretty good to use them with heros in a way as if you lose the fight you can always use a point of might to win it. Also most dwarf heros with 2h's don't get the -1 when rolling to see who wins the fight, so there good with dwarf heros. |

I like them but they have to be in the right situation to use them, your example shows probably the worse time to use them. The best time is when you need sixes to wound as dropping this down to 5+ doubles your chance of a kill, but dropping 5+ to 4+ is only a 50% increase. If you have more attacks or a higher fight, it may be a good idea, definately so if you need sixes to kill, a good example of this is my Khand mercenaries V Minas Tirith. |

I would throw in between 2 and 6 in a force of 700pts. I like them for killing hard stuff but remember you can fight single handed!! it is a choice So if it is 3 of them vs 1 of yours go single if it is 3 of yours vs 1 of their go double with 1 of yours |

Some models dont have another weapon, clansmen for example so they must fight 2 handed really. But I agree it does downplay the elven blade. |
