So after playing a few times with friends I think I'm starting to get a feel for this game .. Or so I thought!!. Played a couple of guys from my local GW yesterday and got seriously beaten , it was embarrassing . In particular my last 500 point game against goblins. We have a rematch scheduled and I need some tactical advice on a decent 500 army to use . I own most gondor pieces , but no cav. I also have started collecting dwarfs . This is what I think he played
2 shamans and a captain
Cave drake
1 bat swarm
2 wargs with goblins on that could shoot even after making full movement , I can't remember what these where.
Prowlers , archers and normal goblins .
The bat swarm coupled with the wargs and cave drake just destroyed everything so easy by reducing my fight , the goblin got behind my lines it was total carnage!!
Despite my loss though it was a great game I can't believe how different this game is from War of the ring, every individual models move made such a difference ,I've got so much to learn .

Did you play one of the scenario's or fought to the death?
The standard tactic to neutralize powerful beasts is to feed them one warrior at the time to reduce the damage they can do.
Basic scenario's end when one is at 25% of its starting numbers, in that case his list is really beatable with this approach.
