Hello, I know there are many posts on this argument, but I don't feel anyone answer situation we encountered in our last game. I describe what happened. Evil got priority and I used Aragorn heroic move to charge opponent's infantry models. Aragorn shouts WITH ME and some Riders of Rohan also charge enemy orcs. Now Evil player moves his warriors and with infantry models charge one Rider of mine. When we played fight phase my opponent, who still retains priority, decides to divide multiple duels so one of the Riders now fight only with enemies who charged the Rider, while the infantry model who my Rider has charged fights in another duel. In other words, my Rider now isn't fighting against the model it has charged, but against different foes, all of them infantry models. My opponent declares my Rider has lost charge bonuses because it is fighting against foes it hasn't charged, but I disagree because the rule says: "The bonuses apply even if other enemies that are infantri subsequently charge the Cavalry model." Who are right? I hope I have explained enough clearly situation, please be patient because english isn't my native language. |

I'm not 100% sure either, but 99,9% of me is thinking that you are right... |

My wife and I had this same debate. We decided the rule to have the cavalry model still get the bonus on all infantry models it is in the fight with is because that whilst the turn mechanics are sequential they represent things happening simultaneously. So the infantry models that joined the fight got into position to be charged as the cavalry model was moving towards the original target model. Does that make sense? I am struggling to articulate what I mean. Need more coffee. |

Does that make sense? I agree with you, of course. Your point of view is the same of mine, that is the rule is so written to simulate simoultaneously actions using a more simple sequential mechanic. Indeed, I wouldn't have posted this question if one of mine Rider haven't fight only with an enemy it didn't charge. I mean: if a Rider fight against one infantry model which it has charged and another one infantry model who has subsequently charged my Rider, no doubt my Rider get charge bonuses; but in this case my Rider fight only against infantry model who has charged my Rider. I still think my Rider get bonuses because it moved and so it has momentum, that in my mind is the reason to give it charge bonuses. |

As long as a cavalry model charged and is only fighting infantry models they will get the cavalry bonuses. It doesn’t matter if they are fighting the same models they charged or not, just as long as they are infantry. |
