Hey all.
Just a quick question:

Do models with a spear which are supporting a model in combat resolve their attack separately at their own fight and strength value or do they basically add another attack to the combat and resolve the combat at the values of the model with the highest fight/strength value like in a multiple combat?

Thanks in advance again :D

Under the new Hobbit rules you can roll the attacks together but each warrior contributes their individual Fight and Strength to the combat. So if an Ugluk with sword has a pike support and is fighting a F3 enemy he can feint because the Pike Uruk's Fight will be used to win the fight. Assuming they win, Ugluk's attacks will be worked out at S5 and the supporting uruk's will be at S4.

Thanks for the clarification mate.

I suppose most people just use different coloured dice to differentiate between attacks in spear/pike support situations?

I find its just less hassle to roll them separately, but either way is fine. If you have multicoloured dice, then that would be quicker and easier.

Yeah we use different colour dice. I find 10 white, 6 black and 6 cream are more than enough for most games and cover all manner of situations (you need the extras for when models are trapped).

Of course you don't need different colour dice to determine who wins the fight, as its the highest fight value of anyone involved in the fight that wins in the event of a tie, not the fight value of the model who rolls highest. You would of course need to roll separately/use different colours if you have heroes involved as they might want to use Might and they can only affect their own dice.
