im a little bit confused by the wording of the rules. it says it is 'devastating' which is good but then 'suffers a -1 penalty to duel rolls' which is bad. what does it mean adding 1 to its To Wound roll? does it mean if i roll a 3 in the to wound roll i can make it 4 (good)? |

When you roll to see who wins the fight you -1 from your dice roll, meaning the minimum you can get is a 1 and maximum is a 5. As you said this is bad. This represents the unwieldy nature of a two-handed weapon. If you manage to win the fight however, this is where two-handers shine. Whatever you roll to wound gets +1. So a 3 becomes a 4, 5 becomes a 6, etc. This represents the extra killing power that comes from a heavy weapon. Basics to remember: Bad for winning, good for killing. This is why a common tactic is to send a regular warrior into a fight alongside a two-hander to help him win the fight. |

You can roll lower than a one even with subtractions so no matter what the lowest score you can get is a one. Your post wording made me think of this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r_pqnsKWlpc |

Nope. Check the rules again. You cannot go lower than a 1 or higher than a 6. |
