The Points cost of War Horns

I apologize if this has been asked before, but after a search I have been unable to find the answer.

In the previous five source books for the armies that were released in 2011?, the points cost of War Horns has always been uniform across all armies as [X] points each.

In the Hobbit rule book, all troops that can use War Horns have them at a cost of [X+10] points.

Is this an error, or have the cost of all war horns been increased?

The war horns are the price shown in the profile, I guess they decided that the courage boost was worth the extra points for the new models.

I don't know. That seems incredibly arbitrary since the force compositions are entirely different (Elven Knights, Dwarves, and Hunter Orcs). If they had made different costs for each unit type based on level of military organization it would make more sense... or if they were retroactively increasing the cost of all war horns to the new cost.
But it doesn't make sense to me to increase the cost of war horns just for all new models in the range and keep the old cost for all previous troops the same.

I think it's just an adjustment made after play testing the Horns. If they release new Army sourcebooks we will probably see a cost increase

I think the points increase is a good thing for what it does, especially for the evil side considering typically your troops have such poor courage.

It may also have something to do with the 'remove your model when it fails a courage test' rule that is in place when your army is broken. I remember a time when you just moved him away towards the nearest board edge for the turn.

Whilst we're discussing war horns, the only rules i own are the ones that come with MOM, plus two sourcebooks (m&a and tfp). Nowhere can i see the rule that explains what advantages are given with war horns. Does anyone have a pgge reference please?

nope, because war horns were introduced in the new sourcebooks. Remember MoM was released waaay back when you couldnt take war horns. There is a reason they pulled that set from sale

The rules for war horns are on page 5 of the source books, in a box labelled Additional Wargear.
