Post subject:  Question about Numenor

Hello all I am relatively new and don't have the rulebook or any army books so I thought that asking on here seemed the most sensible thing to do:

Can a Numenor army be used just like any other army? (I heard somewhere that they were for 2nd age scenarios only).

And in the box of soldiers of the last alliance there are high elves, is there any other box that sells just numenorean soldiers?

Thank you in advance

yes they can but they have very limited options. the only warriors they can use are warriors of numenor (unless you ally in other stuff). the only plastic box is the last alliance one as you mentioned but you can still buy the metal blister packs of GW website.

The limitedness isn't really an issue for me. I will most likely have a last alliance army with isildur and gil-galad leading numenor warriors and high elves.

The only problem with the last alliance box is it's not balanced for bows. There are no Numenorian bowmen, and too many elvish bows. The bow limit is by allied faction, so if you want your Numenorian force to have the usual mix of 33% + other, you'll need a few blisters of metal bowmen, even if you ally with elves. (I do like the metal Numenorian figures, especially the spears, they look great.)

For high elves you'll also need to spend on finecast spear+shield models (4 to a clampack), mostly because you need the spears to make a viable force, but partly to offset the extra bows.

Or just convert some elven archers to spearmen (what I'm currently doing)

I currently don't have any lotr models because i didn't want to start buying without making sure I was happy with whatever army.

A last alliance themed army seems quite an awkward one to start on. I may just go with something easier for now until I am more clued up about the game.

Nevertheless thank you guys for your help or I would have most likely started buying last alliance packs without being able to legally use them.

If you want an alliance army in the future, you could collect high elves. You can get them on their own without the warriors of numenor in some ebay things
